Thats another issue. Fans are people who spend their hard working money on the team product. You never want to insult your fans that come out night in and night out. Im not saying players are wrong or right but you have to respect them. People are always going to cheer and boo, thats just sports. I think the fans need to respect the team as well (meaning its okay to boo a performance but when that game is over its time to go back to supporting that player for the next game). In a perfect world that would happen but in reality it doesnt.

while that mentality--i paid good money for this, so i want a good result--is human nature and i understand it, it tends to snowball into the stupidity we see daily and as consumers, it's tough to find a comparable market. if you get a bad meal and you female dog, they comp you. if you buy a shirt that has a hole in it, you get a new one. that's obviously not the case in sports when you see a loss or piss-poor effort.

Hey, Bill -
Cleary Simmer has been playing great of late. He and Jags flip flopping seems deserving. However, there has been so much made of Jags and Giroux playing off of eachother. Do you think that top line loses some play making ability with that change. It gets more gritty and less pretty which doesn't play to Roux's "skill set". How much of this has to do with the fact that Jags is a 39 yr. old who is a little injured and tired? I hate to see change for change sake just to "mix it up". Thoughts?

Its at the top of the screen. Reads something like:
Is your car as reliable as Bryz in a shootout?

(___) Toyota has __ new cars blah blah.

No 5 hole.

blah blah

Find me the positive article I can read regarding Bryzgalov that has been written recently, I would be more than happy to take a look, then I will proceed to make a paper airplane out of it.

You saw a hockey game that lasted 60 minutes. That's what you paid for. I don't get this "I paid good money" excuse. Does the fine print entitle one to bad behavior?

They crushed Bryz all morning long. I guess some people feel its more important to destroy the player than to support him. Did you also hear them talking about how he and Lavi dont get along bc Lavi demands alot from his players? Is that not what most coaches do?
- stveshdy

Outside of maybe the last half hour when I at work, I stopped listening to the morning show about a year ago. Angelo is a complete bumhole on air. i can't stand that show.

just because legally one CAN get away with a lot of really annoying behavior doesn't mean one doesn't suck

Insulting fans can be suicide for an athlete. Countless guys have been run out of towns by fans.

I will never forget when Larry Bowa -- not without justification -- profanely ripped the fair-weather nature of Philadelphia fans, saying they are the worst fans in sports and that, for such allegedly knowledgeable fans, knew nothing about the working of a baseball team. That happened in 1980.

Bowa got booed the rest of the regular season. He got booed when he was introduced before Game 1 of the NLCS against the Astros. He got booed before Game 1 of the World Series against Kansas City.

Then Bowa went on to have a great WS and the Phillies won their first championship in 97 years of existence. Suddenly all was forgiven by the same fans who even booed Bowa when he stole a base in a key September game against the Pirates.

When all that heat fell on Jimmy Rollins 32 years later for saying basically the same thing, it was deja vu. Rollins was one of the few Phils position players who had a good playoff series against St. Louis, too.

ya was thinking music-wise, but if someone goes to see nickelback or some crap and doesn't know they already suck, they're not going to know when they hear it live.

In an 82 (half at home) game season its pretty much impossible for a team to satisfy its fans every single home game. I understand people paid good money and have the right to boo for a terrible performance. I have a problem when people take it to the next level and go overboard with it.

I liked the way Jagr and Briere looked together in the last game. I also think it was time to throw a little different look at teams (at least experimentally) for a few games. I wasn't wild about how Voracek looked on the Giroux line last game, so may as well try Simmonds (who has been on a scoring tear) for a few games at least. That said, I agree that you lose some playmaking and skill on the top line with two similar wingers on it.

I remember that with Bowa. I also remember Lee Elia ripping the Chicago Cubs fans in the early 80's. He was fired soon there after. It's insanity to rip the folks that are responsible for paying your paycheck. In the end winning cures all, and everything can be forgiven.

Funny, cause I agree with Bowa re: fans, but also 100% disagree with his take on baseball nowadays. Thank God I didn't know what I know now when he was manager from 01-04. If he were the manager now, I would hate him.

BUNT, BUNT, BUNT, BUNT, BUNT. STOP IT.

I'm not Bill, but I liked Voracek on Giroux line. I'm not sure why they are taking him off and adding Simmonds... Maybe just to get different looks, but in the end I think its a good thing. If Giroux and Jagr have that chemistry, it isnt going anywhere, and if they need to reunite them at some point, then the worst that has happened is you now know what lines work and what lines dont. Its a good time to do things with the team struggling... you dont want to have to start shuffling your lines for thef first time int he playoffs...

I guess we'll see how it goes...a little old school (Briere and Jags) vs. new school (G and Simmer).

This is the sh!t i hate. That ass clown Seravalli "writes" a story with the headline: Bryz not hard to score on?

This because of an anonymous survey done by NHLers doesnt have Bryz in the top 6 of a list of the toughest goalies to score on. Also left of the list are Jonathon Quick with a save% of .934 and a gaa of 1.87, Brian Elliot with his #1's in both save and gaa .940 and 1.56 respectively, and a slew of other top flight goalies... all of which are not hard to score on.

(frank)ing idiot.

As Blue Jackets GM Scott Howson looks to rebuild his team, he's prioritizing the acquisition of fast players. "We want fast, and fast isn’t just a player’s feet," Howson said. "It’s puck movement, it’s vision, it’s hockey sense, it’s hands, it’s brains … it’s a lot of different things." Those are some of the abilities Howson is believed to be looking for when he's considering prospects in potential Rick Nash or Jeff Carter trades.
