No way that STL trades way players on their team. They have a great thing going right now. They will only add not subtract.

The owners and the GM's they hire are their own worse nightmare. They keep making rules to protect them from themselves. It is not the players driving up the salaries, it is the bidding wars and free agency.

They'll change the rule then later that year find a way to get around it. Even a mouse knows not to keep doing something that shocks him.

Pretty much this to hope that the next cba allows for long term contacts to be abolished is wishful thinking, they may put a limit on term but the players will demand higher salaries for shorter term.So say the limit is 7 years what would top fa,s want 10 mil plus a season??The best way to stay out of these insane bidding wars is not to have your team having to use FA to add major componets to your team, this is accomplished by drafting and development of youth

All of these names are way too unrealistic .this hope of gaining getzlaf through FA in two years is also nuts ,if he is going to FA there would be more than just toronto interested in his services and iam sure the price would be driven up quite high.

How about dumping ,some vets for picks and focus and drafting and development of better players,to sqaunder your youth for some vain atempt to make the playoffs as a lower ranked seed is crazy,Yet Toronto seems hell bent on this,

When was the last time a UFA took a hometown discount to play on a certain team,if he is a ufa he is out to get paid and find a place that fits him. When you draft a good young player you have him under control for 7 years ,this is huge .The team has complete leverage ,an the player very little

yes

chance of the Leafs getting those 2 are slim to none and the leafs don't have anything to offer them that they need.

First thing i dont see BB doing this either the media has made this trade deadline, the schenn watch ,i personally wouldnt move a 22 year old defender i would move the deadwood around him and let him play through his mistakes.Same for the forwards,Lupal is found gold he could be worth a ton,add macarther, bozac etc. to this list and the potential for toronto to gain some real good youth in their system grows exponentially.

Guys like Kadri and colbourne should playing regardless of position they represent the future ,and while making the playoffs this season would be nice, building a team that is able of doing something in them is better

7 years? Myers has been in the league for 3 years and we just had to re-up him for a cap hit of almost 6m.

According to Todd Fuhrman, senior race and sportsbook analyst for Caesars Entertainment, a $100 bet on the Red Wings back in November would be worth more than $3.9 million now if a bettor had allowed his money to ride during the entire streak.

Did anyone make that bet?

It's pretty clear the Ranger fans don't want Nash.

I know it's not even close to that, but i bet 10 bucks on Det to win the cup this year which pays out $100. Obviously not a big bet...but i just can't believe the Wings were 10:1 for the cup....would expect maybe 4:1

Imagine making that bet how stressed now you would be watching the games if you let it ride.

Yeah 10:1 on the Wings seems rather generous.

Nash is not getting traded until thev offseason, they have to receive
-a high draft pick
-a solid goalie prospect
-a top 6 forward
-a top 4 dman
If I was Calgary, I know they have a solid chip in Irving, shld they want to trade him...

yes he is. Myers, Ehrhoff, Vanek, and Pommer will be the veteran voice of this team for a lot of years to come.
