If you want to vote theres a skill testing question asking what a two line pass is. Gets rid of ass holes and people under the age of 18. |

Not even close to a good arguemet about the New York Yankees are not a great organization... - rmiethaner
the majority is but you look behind the scenes and you start to wonder
jeter, the captain, is extremely disrespectful to women, literally treats them like trash
my fiances uncle used to work in the yankees org (pretty high up and was at every yankees game 7rows behind the dugout) and moved to playboy because he couldnt take some of the yankees business practices, he said if your not going to be in the public eye they treat you like crap, and it has come out that other ex yankee employees have said the same type of thing |

All 3 of those teams sit below us in the standings 2 of those 3 barely hanging on to their franchises. Still don't get your point...your upset that the Leafs have tonnes of cash and a huge fan base that supports them no matter what? - Leafs24seven
So NOW you wanna talk about this year? You guys were just saying how great the Leafs are cause they won a Cup WAAAAAAAY back in 1967. I bring up teams like Carolina, Anaheim and Tampa Bay and suddenly you talk about how they are behind you in the standings this year.
I just find it funny that Leafs fans continually shell out top dollar for such a terrible team. Think about it. Imagine if it were any other business. Nobody would stand for such poor results year in and year out. |

They're already pretty far, I live in the Maritimes! Actually a lot of Pens fans here though. Not that I care what other fans think of me. I guess I'm just more secure than Leafs fans in the sense. - woopstash
If you were secure in who you cheered for...you wouldn't put so much time and energy into being envious of the coverage Toronto gets.

Gotta love it when anyone with half a brain outside of Toronto is called a troll any time they have a negative opinion on how the Leafs are run. - woopstash

Who should i keep? who should i trade?
trade deadline for fantasy hockey is coming up, my team has locked up first for the regular season, its a 3 person keeper league and i feel i can acquire the depth to ensure a win if i trade a potential keeper player. the guys im going to get are pavelski, kipprusoff, louis eriksson from the last place eliminated team.
my 100% keeper is pekka rinne for obvious reasons
so i have 2 more spots for any 2 of the following: tavares, eric staal, ovechkin, parise, benn, backes, lucic, iginla, neal, nugent hopkins
im leaning towards ovechkin and parise, ov being OV, he will bounce back, and parise has found his groove. then trading tavares - tough to do, but he brings a huge return to round out the depth of my team |

...Have you been here since the beginning of the convo? I don't care how much coverage the Leafs get. The Habs get more coverage out here. I'm a Pens fan, I don't expect much coverage for them. Some guy was trolling about how great the Leafs are cause they won a cup back in the 60's. I chimed in and laughed at him and said the situation in Toronto is funny. Naturally I was then labeled a troll as anybody with an outsiders opinion on Toronto usually is. Like I said, I just find it funny that Leafs fans pay so much money every year for such poor results. |

why not tavares and parise. I'd say parise for sure, ovie not so sure he can bounce back |

They are professional athletes making millions of dollars. Just like actors, politicians, other celebrities, etc...
I have nothing in common with them and don't expect any of them to think of me as an equal. That's life.
Yes, it would be nice for everyone to be a nice person, but it is not going to happen. |

I never talked about anything else. But the reality is that the Leafs are ahead of those 3 teams and I live in the now not the past. Large amount of the ticket sales are Corporate and since multi million dollar companies can write it off it's not a big deal for them. Win or Lose the Leafs generate huge revenue not just in ticket sales. It is what it is. We pay (along with the other Canadian Teams) to prop up the weak US markets. |

the majority of people dont throw gf's and women out the way jeter did, yes there are some but the majority dont and especially ones that are supposed to be great examples for kids and be a role model, luckily the ny and other media likes to hide that behind a curtain so alot of people dont know what actually happens

Well, that makes you different than most Leafs fans. The whole reason this conversation started is because another Leafs fan was going off about how great the Leafs are cause they won a Cup in the 1960's. I know the Leafs will continually generate a ton of money. Hockey in Canada is a great money maker. It just makes you wonder if it's a coincidence that the Leafs continually ice such mediocre teams. Why buy a cow when you can get the milk for free, right? I don't mean it in an insulting way since you seem to have a firmer grasp on reality than the other guys in here, but if the team keeps making so much money then why spend millions to try and put a contender together? Just seems like Leafs fans need some way of voicing their displeasure over how poorly things have been in recent years. |

So the Yankees aren't a great organization because Jeter acts like every other rich athlete/actor ever and they have a couple disgruntled employees. Got it. |

Any Penguins fan is a troll? OK....
Look at your username. Everyone knows you're the biggest troll around. Time to pop in a video of the last time the Leafs won a Cup. Oh shoot, too bad video wasn't invented back then. Well, there's always this season! Looks like the Leafs are gearing up for another lengthy post season run! Good luck with that. |
