I'm right there with you. I was at the Coliseum for Game Five of the 2003 ALDS - surrounded by Boston fans. Manny hits a moonshot off of Zito (when he was GOOD) and literally walks to first base taunting the A's dugout. Needless to say, the Boston fans in my vicinity thought it was a riot - but I swore off that POS right then and there. It will be strange to see him putzing around in the Green and Gold.

I must admit I thought it was funny when Derek Lowe gave the Athletics dugout the Degeneration X Suck It after he recorded the final out.

Just got off the links after 54 holes in Hilton Head, SC. For anyone who likes golf, it's a must to visit. I played 3 courses, each one better than the next. Simply stellar. Nothing more relaxing then playing golf (when you are playing well) a fair amount of my clubs have found the bottom of water when I play like poop.

Anyway, I saw this article that I found interesting. Apparently Bryzgalov told a young kid at the Carnival "he cares too much" when the kid was just offering some encouragement.

I liked those A's teams of the early 2000's. They had the Yankees dead to rights in 2000. Should have never lost that series.

I'm generally not a fan of Travis Hughes either. If true, that is a pretty poopty thing to tell a young kid.

I think many on here are enamored with him, myself included. However, the asking price may very well be a first-rounder. And with the recent acquisitions (read, loss of draft picks) I don't think I'm willing to pay.

An underperforming rental for a 1st rounder? If that's the price, he'll remain a Saber all season.

Make sure you try the Shrimp with grits when in S Carolina.
I know it sounds disgusting to some but really its delicious.

Consider a day trip and golf over on Daufauskie Island if you have time.
Really cool place.

Winston Churchill once called golf, "The best way to ruin a good walk." I take it he was a bad golfer, and considering his spoiled attempt to quote Mark Twain had probably long retired to the clubhouse for cigars and brandy.

Head on over to the mellow mushroom for pizza and beers. At the entrance of sea pines.

I agree - it would be a huge asking price. But Gaustad is a perfect role-player for a team looking to take the next step. And if said team feels that they have a legitimate shot at a Cup, they might pay.

Either way, telling fans they care too much is pathetic. Almost as pathetic as Bryzgalov claiming he is a scapegoat. 62nd in save %, is comical. AHL level replacement numbers.

Have to take anything Churchill says about golf with a grain of salt. He was to golf, what Carchidi is to covering hockey.

Nope. Not until I see some competent play. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure Laviolette is going to shelter Bryzgalov from the big bad Winnipeg fans tomorrow night.

Dreger says the NYR are the front runners for Nash. That would be fantastic if Sather disrupts that teams chemistry and brings in Nash.

I could be off base. We will see tomorrow evening. Bobrovsky's play has been so bad, that he might start Bryzgalov.
