This is such bull. What research didn't they do?
Do you miss Boosh's soft goals? He wasn't Patrick Seravalling Roy. - Flyskippy
Its always sunny in philadelphia right?
People will be unhappy no matter what. You could have a super-hybrid-mega-goalie (a combo of Roy, Hasek, Brodeur, and Parent) and they wouldnt be happy. |

Montreal fans booed Price.
Simple fact of the matter is the guy gets booed because he isn't living up to expectations.
People pay money to go to the games. If they choose to boo, all the power to them.
I am not one of them who is booing Bryz, but I will complain about the lack of a quality basic stops.
Bryz needs to be better regardless of how mean the fans and media are to little ol' Bryz.
To blame the media and or fans for why this guy can't stop a puck is cute. - ggunky
I'm not blaming the media or fans for Bryzgalov not being able to stop pucks. I'm criticizing the media for being idiots who don't know anything about the sport and write lazy columns and the fans who eagerly lap it up and feed it.
Again, the onus is on the goalie to be better. If he doesn't start playing better then everything else is a moot point.
My problem is when people criticize unfairly. The ones who criticize how he looks after a goal, or complain about how he talks to the media, or blame him for goals he had no chance to stop.

I think a little road trip is what they need right now. Get out of Philly and start getting focused. they are better on the road anyway so hopefully they can string some wins together and gain some momentum. - funmaster18
They are going to have their hands full in Wiinipeg. It's a tough place to play.
And Blake Wheeler has turned into what we hoped Jvr would be this year.
I'm sure Evander Kane will turn someone into a pylon at least once.
They will need their A game. |

Ok, good point, I wasn't sure if they did or not. Either way, he certainly isn't getting the help needed from the rest of team. Watching the carnival on TV, it really struck me as to how young this team really is...I mean Christ, it looked like most of them could still be in high school. A lot of nights, it really is boys against men... |

Idiots? Really? Sorry saq but as much as I realize that the team defense has been subpar all season, I am also aware of how deflating it is to work your tail off to build a lead only to have it disappear due to poor goaltending. All 3 goals let in by Bryz on Saturday should have been stopped. Hell the goal by Vanek on Thursday was piss poor as well. All people want him to do is make the saves he should be. For what he gets paid should he be playing at Lundqvist's level? Most would argue he should. I don't even care if he doesn't play out of his mind but at least make a routine save and make some effort on the play! - aantny88
The D lets down the goalie over the first few months of the season and it rattles his confidence. His lack of confidence leads to poor play and that makes the team lose confidence in him. It works both ways. It's not just the goalie, it's not just the D. It's all 6 guys on the ice at a time. |

Yep. Time to ride Bryz for a few games. I'm eager to see what these trades do to solidify the defense. |

People who rely on scapegoats and brutally boo a guy, no matter what he does, are idiots.
Guy gets a shutout, loses in the shootout and gets booed. The people who booed him are idiots. Philly fans who take pride in booing a guy because he hasn't yet lived up to their expectations are idiots. People who rely on WIP and the Flyers beat writers to form their opinions are idiots.
Here's my question, does booing help? No. It further sends the player a message that no matter what he does, he's not going to be appreciated. I've ripped the national media for years about their attacks on Philadelphia fans. But they were not all wrong.
I'm not saying Bryzgalov has played well. In fact very few people would say they have been happy with his play. Guess what, he's the first one to tell you he has to be better. It's not as if he's made excuses all year. The guy gets blamed for every goal like it's a slow roller through his 5 hole, and it's ridiculous. - Jsaquella

Before I begin, I'm not arguing Bryz has played to expectations nor refuting he's disappointed, especially against the Penguins.
Anyway, which is it? Is it "all we want him to do is make the saves he should" or is it "he even has to make that one save he didn't against Buffalo"? Because this post can't seem to decide what it's saying. If you're only looking for him to "make the saves he should", you shouldn't be nitpicking out saves he "should have made" in what seemed like a pretty good win for the guy.
Again, I'm not saying Bryz doesn't deserve scrutiny. But the bipolar outlook on his play, along with things like "apathetic attitude", don't jive with this Vulcan's logic. - BulliesPhan87
All he should do is making a fracking save on a routine shot. Nothing bipolar in that logic at all. It's not about nitpicking. Getting scored on from a shot right from right over the blue line doesn't exactly scream he has the ability to make an easy save or show his teammates he can get the job done. |

Bryz will have a strong game on Tuesday against Winnipeg so we beat them once this year, OT win in Edmonton and then loose in Calgary to a boring 2-1 game in Calgary. |

They need to keep playing against tough opponents if they want to get better. Winnipeg has killed us this year, time to turn it around. |

Nope. And that's my point. He gets poop on no matter what he does. When he wins, the team played well in front of him. Losses? Well, that's all him. - Jsaquella

Kubina was a solid addition. If nothing else he's a playoff tested guy who has won a Stanley Cup. He's not an all star level guy anymore, but he's big, can block shots and can be physical. He also has a big point shot.
They basically traded the same thing for him that they did for Grossman, so it's a fair deal, although Grossman is far more likely to be re-signed. |

Not John but I am seriously looking forward to a big right handed shot on the point.
So sick of seeing the puck moved around the boards only to have the D man with no option but to flip a weak backhander into the corner.
Also he will improve the size in the back.
Downside, well speedy wingers will probably fly right past him. |

I like the idea of Kubina unleashing bombs from the point on the PP.
He really solidifies the top 6.
Hopefully the team can tighten up defensively.
