Jack Capuano after yesterday's 6-0 loss to Ottawa:

“At this time of the year you need physicality. You have to pay the price. I’ll never ask anybody to fight but we weren’t physical enough. We need an injection in our lineup, we need something to happen here. We can’t have the emotion that we had on the bench here tonight.”

***************************************************************

Wonder why we cant get over the hump?

We have a team full of pacifists who are asked to be physical.

A coach who wants these spiritless players to inject physical play into the line up.

Does anyone see a disconnect between the Coach, the GM and the owner in Capt Jacks statements (requests)?

Wang wants the physical aspect of the game removed.

Capt Jack wants his players to be Physical!

Garth Snow has buried all his gritty players in Bridgeport!

No one seems to be on the same page.

Is it any wonder that this team has no identity? No accountability? And no will to win?

As I stated yesterday. It all starts at the top. These three stooges cant even get on the same page.

I wonder which players Cappy believes can step up the physical play among those currently on the roster?

KO? Grabner? Ness? JT? Matt Moulson? Frans? BAILEY?????

Capt Jack must be kidding? Aside from Martin. There is no one capable of being physical in the present line up.

Michael Haley and David Ullstrom who be a huge upgrade over Rolston and Reasoner. Ullstrom is playing great hockey....but your right it seems like the coach and gm are not on the same page

CLEARLY a big disconnect between cappy and upper management....at least 1 of the 3 realize the importance of having a physical game...

I think you're right about the disconnect. I think Cappy has very little input on who plays and how much they play, despite being the head coach. I've been asking for a while now who keeps making these decisions to keep everything exactly the same when anyone with eyes can see there needs to be, at the very least, a few tweaks...even if it's just a few in-house changes. I don't think it's Cappy making that call, as this is certainly not the first time he has made a reference to there needing to be a shakeup, and he never gets it...even when he just asks for callups. And when he finds a player he likes, he's not allowed to keep that player. Remember when he was gushing about Ullstrom and said something to the effect of him being back on the Isles sooner rather than later? Well, he got Wallace and Rakhshani instead.

It isn't over yet. If we at least could beat Sabres and maple Leafs lose tonight then it will be four points behind. Anything is possible.

If it is the case that Eaton wants out...welll...See YA! Don't let the door hit you on the way.

I just hope that we would resign Parentau for two years and trade Eaton, Rolston, Montoya, and etc.

Would anyone object to this?

Grabner, Poulin, a 1st round pick 2013 and Parentau for Bickell and Kane? I still think Kane will be dealt!

They look dead yesterday. I was at that game and was sitting pretty much right behind the bench. They looked so out of it they were not even communicating on the bench. Even when MArtin started a fight he went up to the guy and asked him want to fight. The guy shrugged his shoulders and they went for it. They just looked dead.

Jack just stood in the same spot and did not say a word just stood there. Fans were screaming at him to do something call a time out anything. But nothing. just stared out in space. Weight was a littel fiery and was screaming and PA well just lost it. Tavares was the only guy who showed up yesterday. IT was a very sad place yesterday

it really seems like cappy is coaching players that he doesn't want on his team...it really seems like he wants haley ullstrom maybe gillies and he gets reasoner rolston and pandolfo..i am starting to buy into the huge dissconnect between coach and gm/owner

Does anyone else see the irony in that? Didn't Nolan get canned because he supposedly wanted to play aging vets over the kids? Now we're talking about a possible disconnect between Garth and Cappy because Cappy would rather play the kids over the aging vets

At this point the Islanders need to shake things up. Trade anyone. Anyone but Tavares he is the only guy worth keeping everyone else there is a price for. Moulson is going into his usually yearly slump. Okposo is back to being the Kyle we saw at the beginning of the year. Grabner I dont even get excited about when he has a break away anymore. Our defense looks bad even Macdonald looks atrocious. I would put everyone on the block and see what happens. What is the worst thing that could happen we get a top 5 pick again? Who cares

I agree. I don't know why anyone want to trade nabby. I feel that he would make our team better. I would like to see him remain with us for a year or two. I wouldn't be surprised that we would make it into the playoffs because of him

I'm beginning to put more credence in that theory. I really think his statements yesterday speak volumes about the dysfunctional way this organization is run. I dont believe Capt Jack has been given the freedom he had last season, nor the personal he would like to repeat the success he had during the 2nd half of last season. Maybe Jack is not the problem after all. Maybe?

I'd be thrilled to have those two (R&R) replaced by the pair you mention from Bridgeport.

If memory serves me. You attend some Bridgeport games? Whats your take on Blair Riley? He seems to be in the mold of a Haley or a Gallant but I've heard very little about him. I believe we picked him up from the Coyotes. He seems to be playing regularly in BP. From the clips on Hockeyfights.com he can surely fight. But can he play?

BP has Haley, Gillies ,Riley, Gallant, Olsen, Oleksy etc. in their line up. All tough guys. Yet, Surprise surprise. BP is in 2nd place with 28 wins 18 loses and 1 point out of 1st place.

While the Isles avoid confrontation and continue to flounder. Seems ideology means more to the Islanders than reality.

I agree 100% Nabby is as close to a number one goalie since God knows who. There is a huge rumor that he wants to stay with the Islanders. He likes what he sees. I do to and a way. They are doing a lot better then last year. We just need some size that is all. See if we improve then the free agents will come

i went to all three games this weekend..bport is fast tough and simply out works evey team they are playing now...gallant is hurt..but Riley is a good fourth line enrgy guy..i'm not sure if his skating is good enough but he is all effort.the guy who has stood out the most is Steve Olesky. Good skater..good enough i feel..tough as nails hits everything and boy can he fight...no one gets pushed around and even Cizikas is a physical beast 5'11 plays like he is 6'2

The only one who be crying about this trade would be Chris Botta...he loves KO...I think he is a 3rd line forward, same with PA and Grabner...the Islanders need to start building the top two forward lines with players that have skill not these reclamation projects like Grabner and PA. Moulsen fits this mold too but he scores 30 goals every season and friends with JT.

Try more like Strome, Moulson, Okposo, deHaan, and this years first, and that's likely to just get Bowman to take you seriously.

Nah he is part of the problem not the biggest but a part. When the game starts it is up to him to shake up the lines. Moving PA to the first to second line is not shaking up the lines. Do an overhaul during the game. Yesterday would have been perfect for that. I mean he did not even use his time out. He just stood there did not say a word at all. When PA got his second misconduct it was Weight the refs went to to explain the situation they did not even go close to Jack and after the explanation there was no communication between Weight and JAck. Not for nothing but it looks more and more that it is Weight running things and not JAck

I would definitely do Strome, KO, Poulin and #1 for Kane, Bickell and Bolland or Owens. Also I would offer the same deal to Anaheim for Visnovski and Ryan...if Snow could pull that one off he would get exec of the year...

Here is my two cents: KO is a 3rd line forward, Strome is probably going to be good but we have Brock Nelson who is bigger and with a lot of upside. I like Poulin bit Neilsen is having a better year in Bridgeport so you can make the deal....

That package might not even get you Kane alone, let alone anyone else.

Also..who is Owens? There's nobody on their team with that name and they don't have any prospects named Owens.
