Do you know what's completely awesome about this discussion?

I posted the trade idea on Twitter, and all the Oilers fans want no part of the deal because it's so one-sided, in their opinion, in favor of the Kings.

On here, all the posts are saying how the Kings would be getting screwed.

Perception is a wonderful, wonderful thing.

Oiler fans said it would be one sided on Twitter.

Outside of Twitter, you have a mixture of fans from a multitude of teams and they all say the deal sucks for the Kings.

I'd believe what fans of 10 (just guessing) different teams said rather than what fans of one team said.

That deal isn't going to happen. Hemsky isn't nearly as valuable as every blog you write seems to indicate.

Fragile, unmotivated, and a career underachiever, does not equal this deal.

why do you want to trade gagner. he is starting to look like the 2nd line center you always wanted him to be. Why get those other two centers when you already have 2 that are really good. i think the oilers should sing him to a 2 year 3 millions a yeat contract. Give the kid a chance to play on a good team before you trade your core away.

So you're saying fans of teams other than the Oilers know more about the Oilers than Oilers fans?

Keep in mind the Kings are desperate to find a way to score goals, and upper management jobs could be on the line if they don't make the playoffs this season.

What he's saying is that fans of other teams are able to look at the Oilers without any kind of bias.

What he is saying is that fans of other teams can look at deals objectively and realize that Johnson and Bernier are better than Gagner and Hemsky. Way to throw in the ever coveted 3rd round pick though.

I'm not saying the Kings brass aren't stupid enough to do it, I'm just saying it would be stupid to do it.

And no I'm not saying Oiler fans don't know more about their team than other fans, I'm saying Oiler fans (and every other fans of teams) are too far up their ass to determine their players quality.

I really don't think Johnson and Bernier have more value than Hemsky and Gagner. Gagner is the best all-around asset in this deal. Johnson is strong offensively and weak defensively, and Bernier is completely unproven as an NHL starter. Hemsky is the only player on the board who has had close-to point-per-game seasons.

If the oil move Gagner and or Hemmer they will dig them self a hole, they will have only 3 legit top 6 players.
I'm sick and tired of you guys saying PRV is a 2nd line winger, yes he has been better latley but honestly the oilers have rushed him. He needs sometime. IMO the oilers top 6 will look something like this...

Hall/Nuge/Eberle
???/Gagner/Hemsky

the oilers need some grit and strength in the top 6, Honestly PRV on the third line with Horc and Smyth would be a solid line. PRV on the 3rd line means the oil will have a bit of depth. That leaves Omark out of the picture, I would like to see him get a chance with Hemsky before the deadline.

no one really knows what players are worth these days, after a few trades this past week it seems Dman are hard to come by and GM's will over pay to aquire them. I member last year what everyone said about Kaberle and Penner, look what they brought in return. I wouldn't be surprised if Hemmer actually fetched a lot but wouldn't be surprised if the return was a couple of picks.

How does getting two top six forwards make no sense for the lowest scoring team in the league?

I can't even take how stupid these blogs get anymore.

Wow, now that's a terrible deal.

Oilers give four assets for two, and the two immediate players the Oilers give are as talented or better than the two the Kings send this way?

Gross.
