Gagner is worth more to the Oilers than what he could likely be traded for.
There's your answer.

I don't know if I was clear enough, but the Oilers are quite (frank)ing bad. - Jack-artist
Ya, good point. Was just hoping they could at least be competitive against a tired team so it's a good game. |

Foreign born UFAs with under a half-dozen goals and a minus rating are really valuable this year. I am thinking a first rounder, Ellis and Blum gets the deal done... that's right, Richard Park is up for grabs |

I just read the blog now
"To the LA Kings - Sam Gagner, Ales Hemsky and a 3rd round pick
To the Edmonton Oilers - Jack Johnson and Jonathan Bernier"
Good one, Cloutier. |

It's the trade deadline time, when all the ridiculous ideas come out.
So, Los Angeles needs scoring and they acquire Gagner, who might still turn out to be something of consequence and Hemsky, a guy who can't score a goal to save his life.
Edmonton needs a quality defenseman, so it acquires an offensive defenseman who can't stop my nine year old son from scoring on him. He is garbage defensively.
Edmonton wins this deal only because it gets the best fit for each team - Bernier. I don't see this happening. |

Terrible first period. Once again could've been an interesting game if the Oil could start strong. We need to start throwing hits and stop getting pushed around. When players like Hall and Gagner are hit and shots taken at there has to be some kind of consequence for the opposition. On a plus good job to Paajarvi. 4 points in 5 games now. |

I thought Hall was invisible tonight. So far Seguin is definitely the better player. |

Seeing how Hall has 20 more points in less games so far in his career. I feel good in saying your a fool.

You used the wrong kind of "your" there, genius.
Hall plays WAY more minutes. And Seguin has won a Cup. |

If the Oilers took Seguin, Hall would of won the cup, and you would be here saying Halls better then Seguin. Quit trolling. |

Correction...
The Bruins won a Cup...Seguin was far from a major contributor in that Cup run. |

Last time I checked, Seguin was on the Bruins when they won that cup. 7 points in 13 games in the run. Not too shabby for a rookie. Better than Hall's playoff stats so far.
And like I said, how many more minutes/game did Hall average last year compared to Seguin? |

He had 4 of those points in one period. After that he was largely a non-factor. Even Bruins fans will tell you that. Nothing is remotely settled between the two draft picks, and you're a trolling idiot. |

Funny how you guys keep saying I'm a troll just because I don't agree that Hall is better than Seguin. I guess if I try and say the Canucks were better than the Oilers tonight I'll get accused of being called a troll too? Are you allowed opinions around here or do you have to agree that the Oilers are the best and all their players are the best in the NHL? Gimme a break. I said Seguin is better than Hall and used a couple arguments to back it up. If that makes me a troll then I'll wait for my ban. |

13 of 26 games played...I remember he was sat at least once for poor play...So as I said he was not a major reason they won the cup.
Just like people talk about how Gagner's season stats are skewed due to his 8 point game, so is Seguin's playoffs due to a game where he got 3 or 4 points...so he had 3 or 4 points in his 12 games...
Marchand, Chara, Thomas...etc...these guys were the reason that the B's won... |
