Didn't watch the game yesterday I recorded it but no way will I watch it. I think Lava has done a good job with this team for the most part. Look at all of the injuries, rookies playing and just general player turnover and I'd say he's coached well with it all. It isn't his fault the goalies are letting in easy goals.

I don't know much about playing goal, but to me it seems Bryz is out of position a lot. He seems to over play and leave the far side open. His play seems to show that he has forgotten how to play. He seems to be thinking too much instead of being in the flow of the game. He hasn't recovered from last year's playoff and being in Philly has killed him. He might not be able to deal with the pressure of playing in a city like Philly. Bottom line he needs help and needs it badly. I know he has a long contract, but he might need a change of scenery. He is a serious head case.

This is a good young team, but they need a goalie. Right now neither Russian is the answer.

I am praying that PH does not trade for Nash. I see to much going the other way that it would hurt the team in the long run.
Will both Grossman and Kubina both resign? Who knows.
All I know is that this team is very young and is going to play like poop in stretches until they figure out what it takes every game to win together.
I am for the flyers circling the wagons, not making any crazy trades and playing as hard as they can and letting the chips fall where they may.
Nash does not get this team a cup this year and his salary is so restrictive it will only cause cap problems down the road.
I think the flyers have to hope Bryz gets his head together and has a good playoffs and learns what it takes to play here next year.
Didn't like what PH ghave up for Kubina. Thought it was a bit much. Ok a 4th round draft pick may not be much but that second rounder would have been nice.

It isn't just Bryz who needs to find the soul to play here.

looking back on some of his 24/7 quotes I think "the city" was in his head before he got here. He was talking about how other players warned him Philly was tough on goalies. I think he can turn it around next year if he gets his head straight. That being said if I had an offer for him and he was willing to go I would take it. He may have "mcnabbed" himself into thinking everyone is against him already.

The quotes from his past teammates are more than a little disturbing.

I do think JVR's and Giroux's comments from yesterday in support of Bryz (and the goalies in general) were sincere. It was good to see those guys step out and at least say the right things, and I believe again, that they were sincere about it.

Even though I don't think the Flyers are going for a goalie, it doesn't sound far fetched. Bob for Nabokov does seem extreme to me. Nabokov has played outstanding against us but if Schneider for Bob is possible, I'd look more into that.

Well that's too bad, if Giroux stopped throwing blind passes everywhere maybe we wouldn't give up shorthanded goals.

The team as a whole does that along with the knack for cross ice passes, drop passes, & holding onto the puck to long that it allows he defense to get in position to block it.

Why not? If the Canucks are even considering moving their prize young back up, why not take a young back up in return? I'm not saying that the Canucks are looking to move him, I'm saying Schneider is ready to be a starter now and Bob has the potential one day.

If they are moving him why would the move him for another goalie they have another "stud" goalie prospect in their system. If they move him I'd bet it's for other parts or picks they can help them.

So could BOB or Schneider but they price for the latter won't be cheap.

They have been getting on Bryzgalov almost the second he had his first bad game. For a supposedly knowledgeable hockey base we have here, the rabble sure are stupid about hockey.

YESTERDAY, Bryz let up three bad goals. All three had extenuating circumstances.

1) a 2 on 1 off a bad turnover. Bryz contributes to the problem by over committing to the potential pass and coming slightly off the post, getting beat shortside. Understandable in a small degree because of how many wide open looks this team gives up in those situations. However, this time Grossman played it the right way. And Bryz CAN NOT allow himself to be beat on that side of the net.

2)A terrible turnover by Giroux leads to a breakout coming the other way. Staal gets a clean shot with Bryz should handle easily. No screen, not deflected, not a particularly hard shot. Probably the worst goal all season.

3)5 on 3 powerplay in which the Flyers are all just standing still. Allowing even the 3 players the Pens have on the ice to defend it easily. This lack of movement gets a Flyer player in trouble and he flips an airborne pass back to the point which Timonen , who is already flatfooted, cannot handle and it is off to the races. The Penguin flips a shot which makes its way between Bryz's arm and body for the third bad goal.

Bottom line is that they were all stoppable bad goals. But I will not sit here and say like so many others that Bryz is 100% at fault at not blame every other guy on this team for making bad decisions and plays that contributed to the situation.

Then have to sit here and watch Bob let up terrible goals as well, and have to listen to people have their double standards.

Bryz is the guy, the fans, the team, the city, all have to accept it and do one of two things. a)try to run the guy out of town, put up roadblock after roadblock to further exacerbate his confidence problems, or b) get behind the guy and the team and help him get his head straight.

Some in here will say, oh, he makes so much money, he needs to take it. BullCRAP! I don't care how much money you make at work, if all day long all you hear is what a POS you are all day, it is going to bother you and affect you negatively. If you say it wouldn't, you are either an idiot or a liar.

Bryz is here for a long time. Get used to it, get behind him. He is a likeable guy. He isn't a jerk, he genuinely cares about how the fans perceive him and he wants to do well. We as fans can either help that, or hinder that. Right now, we are just being like Iggles troglodyte fans. I thought we were more sophisticated than that. Able to see the subtleties and get to the root of the WHOLE problem with this team, not just the blame the ONE goalie idiots.

I support Bryz.

this guy rips him apart back in June. But it kinda comes across as sour graps to me

Hockeys future is a terrible web-site in terms of actual talent assessment. They rarely update anything either.

It's more for just basic info about players. Nothing on there is really worth looking into information wise.

Looking back at yesterdays game and I am PH I lobby the NHL hard to not have any afternoon games next year.
The flyers played with jam yesterday but it was diet jam and not very satisfying.

What number is Kubina wearing? Don't give him that stupid number 13. It looks weird on defenseman.
