I think a 4-game road trip to the west coast may be exactly what Bryz needs. Away from the fans and against teams that he has some familiarity with, the road trip has a potential to be a blessing in disguise.

I couldn't agree more. I think he should very well start in Winnipeg. Let fans who have a serious hate for him get on to him. If he doesn't have confidence right now, build some and Tuesday is the best place to start.

Who is the retard who asks if there's been any thought of sending Bob down and bringing in Leighton? Why does he have a (frank)ing press pass? Why does he get paid to follow the sport of hockey? Sweet Merciful Crap the Philly media sucks.

Eric Wellwood

This season
4 Games, 1 Goal and 2 Assist, 3 Points

Career
7 Games, 4 Points

I'm not saying this guy is going to be a Hall of Famer but this kid does have a certain drive about him. I do feel he's important to the youth movement of the team (which is why I'm glad we were able to move on front Nodl). No offense to Harry Z but I never understood how Z made the team over Wellwood.

I can see Wellwood being sent down in the near future but I'm willing to bet he's here to stay next season.

They have been getting on Bryzgalov almost the second he had his first bad game. For a supposedly knowledgeable hockey base we have here, the rabble sure are stupid about hockey.

YESTERDAY, Bryz let up three bad goals. All three had extenuating circumstances.

1) a 2 on 1 off a bad turnover. Bryz contributes to the problem by over committing to the potential pass and coming slightly off the post, getting beat shortside. Understandable in a small degree because of how many wide open looks this team gives up in those situations. However, this time Grossman played it the right way. And Bryz CAN NOT allow himself to be beat on that side of the net.

2)A terrible turnover by Giroux leads to a breakout coming the other way. Staal gets a clean shot with Bryz should handle easily. No screen, not deflected, not a particularly hard shot. Probably the worst goal all season.

3)5 on 3 powerplay in which the Flyers are all just standing still. Allowing even the 3 players the Pens have on the ice to defend it easily. This lack of movement gets a Flyer player in trouble and he flips an airborne pass back to the point which Timonen , who is already flatfooted, cannot handle and it is off to the races. The Penguin flips a shot which makes its way between Bryz's arm and body for the third bad goal.

Bottom line is that they were all stoppable bad goals. But I will not sit here and say like so many others that Bryz is 100% at fault at not blame every other guy on this team for making bad decisions and plays that contributed to the situation.

Then have to sit here and watch Bob let up terrible goals as well, and have to listen to people have their double standards.

Bryz is the guy, the fans, the team, the city, all have to accept it and do one of two things. a)try to run the guy out of town, put up roadblock after roadblock to further exacerbate his confidence problems, or b) get behind the guy and the team and help him get his head straight.

Some in here will say, oh, he makes so much money, he needs to take it. BullCRAP! I don't care how much money you make at work, if all day long all you hear is what a POS you are all day, it is going to bother you and affect you negatively. If you say it wouldn't, you are either an idiot or a liar.

Bryz is here for a long time. Get used to it, get behind him. He is a likeable guy. He isn't a jerk, he genuinely cares about how the fans perceive him and he wants to do well. We as fans can either help that, or hinder that. Right now, we are just being like Iggles troglodyte fans. I thought we were more sophisticated than that. Able to see the subtleties and get to the root of the WHOLE problem with this team, not just the blame the ONE goalie idiots.

I support Bryz.

Homer, have you entertained the thought of sending down Bob and signing Bernie Parent? He did not allow a goal in the alumni game. Looks like he still has it.

Jagr on Bryz: "I don't think he should be frustrated because we play more offensively than the other teams. It's kinda tough on the goalies. Maybe if you play behind someone who played defense first, it might be a different story. But here we play offense and even if the other team scored four goals it doesn't mean you played bad."

Absolutely true. Now just find a way to inform the Philly media so they can pass it along to the casual fan.
The game yesterday was an aberration.

Wouldn't necessarily call it an aberration but the team play in front of him has a fair share to do with it. I think Bryz HAS allowed too many bad goals this season. The Flyers are an average defensive team, but it's not like they are some reincarnation of the 1992-93 Kings who were a total run-and-gun squad (scoring 4.02 goals per game and allowing 4.05) and made it to the Finals.

There is no way I wanna see the flyers even attempt to trade for Nash unless they could unload Briere somewhere. His contract will be a killer especially since we have no idea what the cap may be next year not to mention the length of his contract.

I am not really a fan of lavy's system, but the team isnt executing it right now. The team has pretty much almost all new faces and it should be expected (the growing pains). I am not writing off this year as some of you guys on here seem to of. I'm just hoping they get their acts together by mid march and go into the playoffs with a fire under their asses. Sometimes thats all it takes.

Enough Trades if we can get another PKer, face off, checking guy fine, but otherwise this team is built for the what's left to play now. Bryz will be fine. We gotta realize he's a streaky goalie always was always will be. His last 10 games he's been solid overall. Maybe this just isn't his year but if not he's shown the ability to bounce back from a bad season before and realistically, if he's gonna have a Vezina Season it might be better if he does it next year anyway. Boo him run him out of town w/e helps a fragile pysche but If we do who we gonna turn too? I hear a lot of you out there talk about not being able to sign another FA longterm without a NTC if we trade JVR(another thing I'm totally against) if that's the case, how is ripping Bryzgalov to shreds going to entice another elite FA goalie to come here? Maybe it's why we haven't seen one since Beezer. just saying

If that is what Jagr in fact said, I can make a lot of inferences from it, maybe I'm wrong but sounds like he's pointing a finger and not at a team mate.

He's been around long enough to know how to spin effectively. Don't think it has anything to do with the coach. Laviolette's system does not preclude the goalies from making easy saves.

no matter what is said here, the flyers do not, and will not have trouble getting FAs. This is a good place to play and they definitely spend. Money and a chance to win is what brings them here. If you choose to go elsewhere based on potential criticism you're probably not a winner.

after yesterday hard to say ignorance. That was really really bad. Do you think it's different in any other major market? Carey Price got roasted for some time. Any good goalies going to avoid Mtl in the future?
