Agreed. We all want the prospects to be playing now an realizing the potential they have, but the reality is they probably get rushed and then eaten alive by the people in here because they are not superstars overnight. - senstroll
look at Scrivens as an example. Yeah he had to be up by circumstance and showed signs that there could be something there. But look what happened. He played quite well in his first game against a horrendous team and he was the next great thing (forget Reimer we got scrivens now). He gets tourched by the big bad bruins behind a terrible effort from the Leafs and he's garbage.

Leafs fan were loud last night. for about 5 minutes. Didnt hear a peep out of them after that. The guy infront of me was a friggin typical leaf idiot. Chanting 13 cups every chance he got. Losers since 67, Not even Canucks fans can say that.
Leafs blow. Peace. |

I posted a link yesterday... it's just an opinion piece from hf, but it goes into great detail about what Burke's doing. Building the organization up, making it a place people want to play(case in point- Liles signing at a discount), making a back-log in the prospect pool, so that down the line there will always be cheap depth that can be counted on to fill in many roles on the team, and eventually become the new core as the other guys move on. - Feeling Glucky?
Its a slow, sometimes painful process... but if you dont have a good pipeline of talent, competing and pushing for jobs, you might as well give up.
Oilers are doing the same, couple years ago they didnt even have a farm team.. now they have one of the top teams in the AHL to develope their players.

No they get to brag because their cup drought is 3 years less than the Leafs. Kills me every time how fans of teams who have won nothing talk about losers. |

All I know is I'm tired of this crap. Tired of having maybe one Canadian team have any chance every few years and the rest of the time for the most part(past couple have been good) we are forced to watch hockey dead cities play for cup while Canada sits on their hands.
Just once in my life I'd like to see an all Canadian final four. Tired of this shhit
Leafs should spend more money on scouting and player development and just make sound decisions and be patient. Everything would turn around within 3 years. |

Since when? when they gave up on having Seguin,Hamilton and Knight?
There's talk of trading Schenn and Grabovski, I just hope the back and forth stops. Are they rebuilding or staying the course? Doing both won't work. |

with regards to Schenn this is just talk. for Grabo... if they can't sign him, may as well trade him. |

Those two (schenn and grabo) are not pieces you want to "rebuild" a team with. Take a look at Chicago. They drafted Toews and Kane. Now those two you don't trade and build around. On the other hand if Schenn and Grabo could grab you a great player you do it. |

Well whatever they do I hope it works. Why do I have to watch a team from the god awful south east division in the playoffs every year and I can't see the team in our biggest market? |

No chance they make the playoffs. Book it. Their schedule ahead isn't pretty.
This road trip proved to me a couple things:
1.Nash isn't our priority
2.finding a #1 goalie is.
3.No chance we'll make the play offs yet bloddy some nose
4.Get what we can for Grabo and keep the rebuild going. - Asparatrout

Ya cause those are the exact names of the players they knew they would be giving up on when they traded for Kessel.
Gotta love these 20/20 hind sight vision losers |

That's not the point. Giving up 2 1st round picks and a second for a scoring forward when you're trying to rebuild didn't make sense to me then or now. My point is that they start going one way then turn around and go same distance other way. Going nowhere is the result. |

The trade isn't looking that bad anymore...so you hating losers are having less and less ammunition with every assist and goal that Kessel gets.
