Brown is a pretty good scorer:
G A Pts
2006-07: 17 29 46
2007-08 33 27 60
2008-09 24 29 53
2009-10 24 32 56
2010 -11 28 29 57
2011-12 13 16 29
His numbers, besides this year, are comparable to Pominville's. Buy him low and sell Pominville high.

This really isn't true. They're totally different types of players.
Pominville: GP=517, P=412, +42
Brown: GP=571, P=334, -44
That's a pretty big difference. I'm not saying I don't think it's a good trade, but I don't think it's fair to say they're comparable. I think they do two totally different things, each of which is very valuable.
Brown is a rugged leader who can contribute decent points.
Pominville is a consistent point producer who plays excellent two-way hockey. I don't really know about the leadership thing because this team is bad until at least the roster changes or the coach/GM changes.
If you put these two together, I think you end up with Shane Doan in his prime (or something very close to it).
You also get 45 playoff games in Pominville vs. 6 playoff games in Brown. So take that for what it's worth.
