I personally saw Richards and Carter hammered on a Friday night as a bars closing when they had a 1pm game the next day. It is no secret, it is a well known fact if you have been around the Philly bar scene at all since they came to Philly.

The lack of respect was the way Richards and Carter handled themselves after they were given those deals. Do a little research before you comment on the situation. Those two signed those deals and didnt take things seriously.

I have told the story before but I was at a bar on a Friday night when they had a 1pm game the next day and they were hammered at 2am. Needless to say they got smoked the next day and Richards and Carter were both horrible.

Respect goes both way.

And if you ask ANYONE around the Flyers... reporters, beat writers, fans... they all feel they were good trades for the Flyers. A lot changed for the better in the Flyers organization the day those two were shipped out. A LOT.

Carter and Richards are great guys, captain material, good leaders and the stories about partying and missing team meetings are total crap. I don't need to do research, because I know it for a fact. Those two are no better or worse than your average NHL mid 20's millionaires. The team that gets Carter and gets him in a tennable situation is going to get one of the Leagues best players for the next ten years.

You would have to add Coburn. Columbus NEEDS defense badly.

I agree it would take more, but Nash's contract has the same affect. He isn't worth 7.8 mill per year, which will ultimately hurt their return no matter who he is traded to.

Steve Simmons is the worst hockey writer in the business. He makes Glenn Healy look like Scotty Bowman. Kessel is a better player than Nash. He has more goals/points in the last three years. And is faster. Kessel for Nash would be a horrible, garbage, disgusting trade. But, it will never even be considered. In conclusion, Steve Simmons is an even bigger moron that Damien Cox.

It's such BS? Dude I have seen Richards and Carter in Philly bars over 10 times over their time here. There is no BS about it at all. So much so that the Flyers brass spoke to both of them about their partying. Which is a FACT.
