I don't think it's a completely ironclad list, it's just the four teams he would DEFINITELY accept a trade to. They can still ask him about other places. Otherwise, how would Columbus negotiate with any of the other teams, especially since the list is now public knowledge? Columbus wouldn't have had a 45 minute meeting with Philly today - and we wouldn't have seen all these reports of teams not on the list trying to talk.

why does everyone say T.O. has a lot of defensive talent. Last year Ek said they were the deepest D in the league. They have 3 legit top 4 d-men in Dion, Liles and Franson who was a steal. Schenn has a huge upside but sometimes guys need a change of scenery and he'd thrive in an environment where team defense is important. Vancouver, Detroit, Rangers, Boston, St. Louis, L.A. and New Jersey would be perfect fits for him.

Rangers: Schenn, Grabo and a conditional for Dubinsky and Erixson

Boston: Schenn and Armstrong for Hamill and Caron

St. Louis: Schenn and a 2nd for Stewart and a 3rd

I hate everyone of these proposals. Consider this: Gardner and Schenn were picked in the same draft. Schenn shouldnt have been in the league so early, but if he too was a rookie this year, then his current play would have people hyping him like crazy. He doesnt need a change of scenery as much as he would benifit from the Leafs playing a legit defensive system. However, he is still a top four easy and a potential number one. Schenn, Gardner, Phanuef, Gunnerson, Franson and Liles is the best overall top six in the NHL, with all of those guys at worst a number 3. The leafs need to add a true shutdown guy to pair with Luke. Thats all. But you just dont trade away 22 year old D's with his potential.

Nash with Giroux would be pretty sick.
