Just a little humor, no reason to take offense.

I just find it amusing so many of you are obsessing about these Nash rumors when it doesn't help address their obvious issue.

if bob does indeed get traded, i'll bet that he gets a shutout in his first game with the new team.

Only if its against the Flyers. Otherwise no chance.

What concerns me is a goalie puts on the Flyers' sweater and all of the sudden can't play goal. A guy McDonald really an average goalie can go to Detroit and look like Howard. I just don't get it, some times I just wonder is Reese all that and a bag of chips.
- ravishingone

I dont know the answer. If I did I would tell you and the Flyers. The Flyers are tying to fix the goalie issue so will see if Bryzgalov is the answer.

We would have a cup too if we sucked for like 7 straight years getting like 4 first overall picks
- Deasr1

Actually, we have three, and it only required sucking for 4 straight years for the 3rd one, but who's counting?

Have a nice evening gents.

Its hard for me to count a player out based on one year. Now if he was still struggling by year three is a definate problem. I do understand why people are frustrated with Bryz as well.

I think most of us aren't thrilled with the idea of acquiring Nash because of the salary cap ramifications. However, the Flyers have always been run to win this year and figure out the future later. It is what it is, so it wouldn't suprise anyone if they do acquire Nash.

I dont think the Flyers can address the issue. They already tied up big time money in the goaltender. So the other area to attack is defense.

Remember the rumor Carter for Thomas, Homer would have been crucified if he pulled the trigger because Thomas lost his starting job to Rask and was coming off hip surgury. Of course, the rest is history.

I actually think the Flyers have done a great job of remaking themselves in the post Carter/Richards era...I don't think the current group of young players is ready to contend just yet, but as long as they don't mortgage the future for a desperate short term fix, they should be in better shape to be a cup contender for years to come going forward....

Homer knows he is stuck with Bryz. He figures if he can sure up the d some and add some more offense, then we can cover some of our goalie woes. I'm not gonna sit here and keep female dogging anymore. I'll wait to see IF we make the playoffs and the match ups. Then I'll worry.

I agree with your premise. Bad years based on their usual Vezina level performance. Have any of the guys you listed ever been arguably the worst starting goaltender in the NHL over 35+ starts? I'm thinking probably not.

heres the only thing that makes sense to me- the flyers are in the mix w/ CLB and LA w/ Nash AND Bernier in play. if there is any more desperate bunch than the kings, I'm unaware of who it could be. I could see some combo of JVR, carle and bob involved in what may be a 3 team deal. w/ amnesty def on the table in the upcoming CBA talks, maybe homer would be willing to roll the dice.

again I'm just suggesting players that would be the framework of a deal that makes sense based on teams needs, cap realities and the desperation level of the parties involved.

even w/ all of the youth, changes and resulting breakdowns, the flyers would likely be leading the conf w/ solid steady tending...

Exactly! and he came back to win a cup in his mid 30's. Just gotta relax already. Yes he played bad today. but he's played good for more than he hasn't that is a fact.

I think the forwards are in good shape, but I would be concerned about the future of the D. Timonen is most likely done after his contract is up, and who knows what's going on with Pronger. Carle, Coburn and Meszaros are good D men, but neither are #1s. Plus the Flyers stink at drafting D men.

I do understand your 1/2 full theory, but I don't think the guy can handle a big market

Belfour and khabibulin were terrible in their first stints with SJ(Belfour got kicked to the curb mid season then won a cup with dallas) and Khabby in Chicago.

Maybe he needs to adjust. Also he played for team Russia. they don't just boo you over there, they have the russian mob stuff your family in a woodchipper.

Edit: it got pretty bad towards the end for Roy in MTL too.

I agree with you, plus losing Pronger this year really has hurt this team with leadership. I want to keep all the young guys, I really don't want them to lose any of the young forwards. However, it just isn't the Flyer way. Hopefully the price tag for Nash will be too high because I do believe understands the youth he has on the roster will only get better with experience.
