he should have been given a major and tossed. he then doesn't end up scoring a shortie either.
- hammarby31

I thought it was text book boarding. Auger is brutal. That being said he didn't have anything to do with the outcome of the game today.

That game is 100% on the goaltending. In what Universe does a team win a game allowing 5 soft goals? Not even the humongous big Universe.

Well since they are at 50 contracts, this should be interesting.
- PLindbergh31

Only takes a minor future considerations move for a minor leaguer (such as Kalinski) to get back to 50. Not really a big hurdle.

I have to think he gets very minimal PP time in TB this year. To have zero points on the PP seems hard to believe.
- PLindbergh31

More armchair scouting tells me that TBL has scored only 25 ppg thus year, 2nd lowest in the league. Flyers have 51 goals by comparison. They have a 13.8 % success rate, also 2nd lowest.

So there is some excuse.

Flyers pp has looked pretty decent last few games, so I am not sure this adds all that much. Voracek is very good at carrying the puck into the zone. And WS keeps scoring these Leclairesque goals from the paint.

Voracek, Gustafsson, Cousins and our first for Nash. Nutty offer I know but it's no more nutty to even gamble with our team for Nash to begin with.

Only on NHL12 xbox/ps3. You can overcome soft goals.

that 2nd goal might have been the worse of the year. i don't understand how lava leaves him in after that, given the 1st was soft too.

If there was no cap, and Columbus had a GM with down syndrome that might be feasible.

Why does this Rick Nash thing have legs? Why would they want that big of a contract?

The second goal looked like the kid who is picked last in Gym class and thrown in goal because no one wants to put the equiptment on.

That's kinda my opinion as well. I think Grossman has a chance to stick beyond this year, but Kubina I think is strictly a rental.
- PLindbergh31

I agree, I definitely see Grossman here next year. Really liked how he played. Yet, I think the Flyers try to go with a one or two year deal with Kubina, depending on how he plays the rest of the way. As for what you said about Kalinski, I don't think that is the move. Who would trade a pick, even a 7th for a guy that was basically out of hockey and doesn't project to be anything? It just doesn't jive.

I hate to say it Plind, cause I feel you have been saying the same things I'm thinking, but I would say Nash will be a Flyer by tonight or tomorrow. I hope I'm wrong, not because he is absolutely awesome, but 7.8 million destroys this team. They have finally got out from cap hell and this would destroy this team.

At this point who really knows. Nothing would shock me. If Holmgren can trade Richards and Carter within an hour of each other anything goes.

Not a huge fan of handing out picks for rentals with a team that doesn't appear to be close.

- PLindbergh31

Grossman and Kubina are an attempt to solidify the D in front of the goalies. Grossman is the one that might stay after this season. I doubt there are future plans for Kubina.

They need to get the lot of the team to dedicate themselves to each game, no matter the opponent or the time of day. Keep it simple - no cutesie crap like blind passes - and focus.

Bryzgalov's "I'm trying to find peace in my soul so I can play in this city" line has me concerned. I think the team should send him on a spiritual outing to sit with the dalai lama, and the sooner the better.

That's Ek's department. But a lot of rumors are of Flyers looking to add a third goalie (yes, the dreaded three-headed monster).

Wouldn't call him a hitter but he can be feisty at times and is another real big body back there. Can still blast 'em from the point, too, and the RH shot helps.

I'm not ruling anything out. Holmgren has shown he isn't afraid to make moves, and big moves at that. Nash doesn't make sense to me, but I have to admit he could be a monster playing with Giroux.

After last season they would seriously think about doing that again? Would Snider fire Holmgren?
