And you will be saying the same crap about the next guy just stop with the silliness.

This very well could be true. But Bryz could be putting together a Vezina season right now, and I still dont really like his deal.

The term is just retarded. Anyone who disagrees is wrong. Sorry.

BRYZ was really bad today and you all know how big a supporter I am of him. However so was BOB and the rest of the team. Still Bryz was bad. This was the worst he's been. However he's been pretty solid lately. You guys gotta calm down. Goalies have bad games, years etc. This guy has shown ability and was able to get the shutout monkey off our backs.

Even Patrick Roy had bad years, get over it guys. Is he here to win a Vezina or a Cup? Because if he's here to win a cup he has to play better and so does the team. We just lost a cup two years ago to a great team with Anti Niemmi in net. Were you impressed with him in that series?

The Penguins were due for a win against the Flyers and the Flyers are awful on these weekend games even without Bryz in net.

Maybe it's nutrition. Bryz just seems sluggish and slow. Especially during the day. I hate 1 o'clock games. just know we are gonna be out played half the time and out ref'd the whole time.
- Deasr1

Honestly, I'd really like to know who's working with both goalies. Is anyone? I mean "really" working with them. The whole league knows Bryz hasn't played this poorly in his career before. Sooooo, maybe it does have something to do with how they're being handled. You can't just leave the both of them in Siberia and hope they perform. I'm just speculating here, but it needs to be looked at imo.

I'll give him a treat, my boot up his ass...uming we could trade him, who really are we gonna get to come in here and play much better in front of a team effort(or lack there of) like that. Odd man rushes on a 5 on 4 and a 5 on 3. Come on.

he isnt going to get traded, bottom line... BOOM

joe, lets face it- if the flyers had routine saves being made today, they win...and today's not the only game. this was the worst however.

The announcers sometimes mention Reese working with both of them. I don't get it though, Reese's whole thing with Leighton was trying to get him to use his size more and it was fairly successful given Leighton's history before his half a good season here. These guys, and Bryz in particular because he is a big guy, just look small. Doesn't seem to jive with what we've heard about what Reese teaches before

Obviously it's a team game, but the 'team' didn't give up 3 stoppable goals in the first 2 periods, Bryz did. (the first 2 were soft, the 3rd was a bit harder but stoppable.)

The team fought back after the first horrible goal and tied the game. Then took the lead. Then Bryz gave up another bad goal. Think that sucks some life out of your team?

The the Cooke goal when the Flyers were on the 5-on-3. That was a bad goal, but absolutely the team gets blame for that goal as they didn't even get a good (any?) shot off with a 2-man advantage and friggin Cooke scored a goal against. Just sad.

And obviously Bob came in a played poorly as well, though the first goal he gave up wasn't as bad as any of the goals Bryz gave up - Bob made the first save, but nobody was there to clear the puck or take the body of the guy sitting in the crease. The 2nd goal was sad, fluky, and the Bob's 3rd (6th overall) shouldn't have happened.

But, the team was deflated before the 3rd period even started. I guess you can blame them for that, but that doesn't change the fact.

- wolfhounds

But that's what I'm saying. Bryz played a horrible game today. No one is defending him, not me. As much as people want to spin it that way, I'm saying he should have stopped ALL 3 GOALS. However, I feel as though I'm honest enough to say that the team should have played tighter hockey and not tried to get too fancy on PP's (5 on 3 especially).

That being said, Bryz was pulled, Welwood tied it, and the game was over. It was a new game at that point. It was a 20 minute, tied game and both teams were in it. As we saw, the team played horrible in front of Bob as well, as did Bob. This points to a complete lack of TEAM EFFORT. The facts could not be any clearer. Bryz was pulled and Welwood scored his 1st ever NHL goal, you could see the team getting excited and re-energized.

Simply put, Bryz should have stopped all 3 goals. The team should have played better hockey. Bob should have stopped 2 of the 3 goals. And Giroux should have been more responsible with the puck.

Now compare my top paragraph with what everyone else is saying: "Bryz sucks".

It's not hard to see where the logic is missing in this thread...

Do you think he's going to come out and say the goalies suck? If you hooked him up to a polygraph machine, it would indicate he has zero confidence in either goalie.

That's reality.

Thank you, Giroux's conscience. Next time I have any questions about what he's thinking, I'll go straight to you. Get the hell out here......

Didn't Timonen say as much a while back?

Agree that he does need to say that though. No need pouring gas on the fire right now. They need to work through it. I know it's a cliche, but losing like this does build character. The goalies need extra, outside help, at this stage though.

It's not a shot at you Joe. I don't blame people for trying to stay positive, but at this point there is nothing to think Bryzgalov is going to find his game this year. And this is one of his prime years during his contract.
- PLindbergh31

I don't know how you can say that when he just had a stretch of games like he did. Bounced back after a bad first period the other night and has gotten that godawful shutout monkey off our backs.

Even if he doesn't get it together this year there is nothing to say he won't bounce back next year. Maybe this just isn't the team's year. Maybe it's better he just gets this bad season out of the way now.

And I'm so (frank)ing tired of people going on and on about his pay. It's Ed snider's money who the heck cares? How about Danny Briere? He's the highest paid guy on the team but get's off the hook because he scores goals in the playoffs. That's a total bunch of poop it's not even funny. If that's the case then let's just shut up until the playoffs and see if Bryz does what it will take to please everyone at this point- Post a 0.0 GAA

Can't get rid of bryz so we need the next best thing...a new goalie coach. Maybe one that can teach rebound control and stopping a breakaway/shootouts.

Agreed on the making themselves look small part. It's just crazy how they butterfly and open up the top half of the net at times. Bob was off on his angles today, but he came in cold. He's also a guy who thrives on more shots. This game was suicide for him.

Isaih I am in no way defending his performance today. He was terrible today. But don't sit here and act like he's been the thing holding this team back, he's not. I see him ripped when he gets a shutout so Honestly I can't take anyone's criticism other than sheer bias against the guy.

It is a good point, however, Briere steps up big in playoffs. Can't say the same for He-Man

Only team in the NHL that has both goaltenders rocking a below .900 save %.

Worst goaltending in the sport.

Does anyone actually believe this Nash/Mason deal? Flyers want them to take Bryz back. Then they have to send JvR and 1st.

How the hell are they going to trade Bryz with a NMC. Its ridiculous.

Everyone settled down after todays loss? Have to put this game behind and move forward.
