You can't have it both ways. It's disgusting how biased the Bryz haters are. You have no issues ignoring the sloppy passing/defense that lead to Bryz's 3 goals, blaming Bryz for all of them. In the same breath, Bob isn't responsible for his softies? You cant have it both ways. It's like politics in here.....
- steelydan

Biased? Haters? Lets get REALISTIC here. No more skittles and la la land.

Bryzgalov sucks. He let in 3 weak goals. The quality of saves required on all 3 are not that high. Thats the difference. They are weak goals. A weak goal sucks everything out of a team. I thought that would have been learned with the guys brought in here year after year.

Bobrovksy's second goal was weak. His first he made the intial save and Simmonds stands there doing nothing. If Bobrovksy saves that one, its highlight reel.

Blame the defense all you want. Lets keep up the "did a lot of good things" mantra. As it stands this team was on its way to winning and was playing a solid game. 3 soft goals by Bryzgalov changed that.

Weak goals are so deflating ... this team seems to have given up now.

Worst goaltending in the NHL. Inexcusable.
- PLindbergh31

Overall this season it hasn't been just the goaltending. But today....it is DEFINITELY the goaltending.

Again, look at how ridiculous you sound. You're giving a pass on 19 PRO hockey players because a guy who is sitting on a bench had a poor performance. Completely ignoring how terrible the team has played defensively for the first 2 periods.
- steelydan

I'm not discounting the turnovers. I dont' think they were poor defensively except for 1 or 2 plays. And Bryz whiffed on them. I am not discounting the play of the team. Like Clement said, if Bryz made the stops, it would've been 3-1 at the end of the 2nd.

Bryz collapsed the first 2 periods. The rest of teh team is just following his lead now.
- feelingkettle

Well, then they are mental midgets. But we knew that somewhat already. They almost always get pwned by the Pens.

ZERO leadership in these types of games. Yes, I'm looking at you Giroux and Briere.

I'm done. You continually ignore the other 5 players on the ice and their actions that led to the 3 soft goals....

Enjoy the rest of the game, though I don't think Flyers fans will find any joy in this *****TEAMS***** performance.

If we had goaltending, we'd have been winning 3-1 at the end of the 2nd. The team bailed Bryz out repeatedly in this game. I was a supporter of Bryz, but I can't even think about defending him after the dump he took on the ice today.

Terrible defensively? Lets not starting calling realistic people rediculous because the truth hurts.

Its hockey. The other team will get shots. Are the Flyers playing bad defensively because they let the other team shoot even once? Go look at the goals, they are basic saves.

If you expect ANY team to not give up any sort of chances once in a while, then thats la la land. The fact is, the chances given up, werent all that great, they were pucks that would be saved by the majority of this leagues starting goaltenders.

No question. At times the goaltenders have been hung out to dry, but for the most part it's been brutal for the better part of the season.

You can count on a few fingers the amount of points the Flyers goaltenders have stolen this year.

4 soft goals in one game is something you don't see in a beer league.

Neither goalie on the roster is good enough, period. It sucks, but that is Flyers hockey, it has been for over 20 years now, it just isn't going to change this year.

Giving up a 3rd period goal while there's still standing water on the ice from the Zamboni.

How many times has that happened lately?

Just so stupid.

If the goalie made the routine saves, the turnovers would be a non factor. Why that's so hard to understand for you, I'm not so sure.

That's like a pitcher making a bad pitch, and then the first baseman whiffs on the routine grounder to 1st, and you blaming the pitcher for it.

Soft goals, but definition, are on the goalie. The 3rd goal Bryz gave up was the only 1 where you could point to a breakdown...but he should have still made the save, though I give him the most slack for that one.

i agree with except today that staal goal was the worst ive seen in a long time and that has nothing to do from a d stand point that was just awul and what i think everyone is saying is every game your defense will break down but thats when u need ur goalie to make a save and that hasnt happen all year... thats the problem team defense has been bad but today is the goaltending... staal goal was unreal
