Nashville lost because the Canucks were better. Who in the hell scored bundles of goals against that team? I can see that I am dealing with a child. Go back to watching Hello Kitty.

I think this is a great trade by the Preds.
Another top notch D-man and giving up nothing in return except the draft pick.
I don't think Poile is done. A decent forward pick-up and we should be ok.
As far as Weber and Suter ? If new deals are not done by the end of the season they will be traded at draft.

I'm gonna say it again: Vrbata. Please oh please let Phoenix hit the skids so they start looking to dump payroll ahead of the sale.
- figurefive

I'm sure Phoenix would like their 4th round pick back!!! Vrbata would be sweet! Monteral keeps their 5th round pick if Boomer doesn't play 40 games next year. I don't think Boomer will see 10 games if he is lucky.

Dont feel bad, if our arena situation gets resolved, then everything else will fall into place.

I thought Grossman was a better deal but he went to Philadelphia. Hal Gill was next.
It's definitely one of the pieces we needed. Thanks Mr. Poile.

Do you actually watch hockey? First, Hal Gill doesn't even come close to sharing any of the same qualities that Shea Weber exhibits.

Second, Shea Weber is an RFA after this season.

- ProudestMonkey

It didnt make sense to me for a different reason....Hall Gill is a UFA-so he is essentially a rental and not any type of replacement for whatever players name you want to insert.

Considering the Flyers gave up a 2nd and a 3rd for Grossman, who is also a UFA/rental....I would say that the Preds made a good deal (from the remarks I am hearing in regards to the players they sent to Montreal).

Here, here...

BTW--where is Gill on his current contract? Any years after this one?

"That he cost the Flyers no current prospects is great, as well. I am told Dallas will make a push for Ryan Suter this summer at the NHL Draft and are shedding future UFA salary on the back end here."

what is your take on what was given up?
- nastyflyergirl

Unless Hal Gill suddenly learns how to skate, this is a slam dunk for the Habs. They get a 2nd round pick (probably 50-55th overall) & two good prospects for a way-past-his-prime stay @ home d'man who is a liability at 5 on 5. I'm glad that the Preds just got weaker in the long run.

Just improved our PK in my opinion which is the weakest part of our game this year. Appears we got better to me.

Completely agree! We gave up 2 minor leaguers and a 2nd for one of the best penalty killers in the game. Ugh, that damn Poile!

Suter had no clue where Datsyuk was going on that one...hell of a shot to score too.

Yeah, he looked like a rookie on that play. He should have just knocked Datsyuk down. Great game.

Two would have been nice. I thought the Preds played every bit as well as the Wings, if not better.
