I have seen a ton of players that normally would cut to the net or go flying behind the net to come out the other side peel off completely into the corner to avoid being splattered against the boards.
He is an expert at that. - kingcong39
I've missed all of that. |

This came up because Montreal got 2 players and a 2nd for Hal Gill. People then started saying how we should trade 2-3 defensemen if that is the going rate. - Pierceme69
Gotcha. 2 or 3 defensemen.
Pick 2 or 3 from Sekera, Leopold, Weber, Gragnani. Keep Myers and RR. Ehrhoff doesn't need to go, but it's irrelevant because you aren't moving that contract either way.

He had no value last night. Not that anyone else did either, but he was noticeably standing around for a few of the goals. - Pierceme69
name one player on the ice after the start of the second period that had value?
granted RRs play on the wayne simmonds goal was turrible |

Buffalo should sign Gill next year.
Not the Sabres though, the Bills. Apparently Gill was an extremely gifted and highly ranked prospect QB who just happen to choose hockey. - Gunner Staal
They compared him to Drew Bledsoe...per Pierre McGuire |

we must be watching two different teams..
Regher has not been the Shutdown dman he was touted as but he has been no where near as bad as grags on his best days.. Regher is not a point getter and never was going to be so pointing to his goals and assists is just useless. He is a -13 (or whatever) because he is constantly on the ice when the other teams better players are on the ice. - SabresFaninIndiana
Exactly my point. When you're not a help to the offense whatsoever (be it by scoring or puck transition), then you had better be very good playing defense. He gets worked game in and game out. The Flyers abused him more than once last night. |

So he would start the season hot then fizzle out.. or was it that he had a hell of an arm but had shoes made of concrete? |

I've said my peace on what I feel Leopold can get.
Sekera gets a 2nd, one top tier prospect, and a middle of the pack filler AHL prospect at most.
Weber gets a project player in return.
Grags gets you a spin in the dryer with OJ Simpson, an aids patient, and razor blades. |

If RR want's out and is dealt to a team making a true cup run I dont see how that would look bad for Buffalo.. - Therat36
Agree - I understand the argument against it, but I think it is way overplayed.
All of it would be done with Regehr's consent. Perhaps he wants to be traded to a winner.
You wouldn't even have to make it a public spectacle. Ask him if he is interesting in leaving. If not, forget it.
You guys are making it sound like the civilized world would condemn Buffalo for this! |

I think Leopold has been traded three times for a 2nd round pick, two times there were some prospects thrown in. Given the market price for Gill I don't think your assessment is as far off as some might think. |

I'm OK with the return.
Moving them moves some status quo and opens up room for McNabb and Brennan. It also opens up salary to bring in an offensive defenseman who isn't a wet kleenex in his own zone or an inconsistent, headcase Slovak, or a "physical" defenseman who's weak in his own zone, or a guy who is the second coming because he played well in a playoff series... that we lost.
Move 2 or 3. All 4 if you can. Get some cap space and open positions to make some better decisions. |
