Yep and I see this team going on a streak late in the year to take us out of the bottom five and fvcking it all up. - dadeadhead
is there really "that" guy available in this years draft anyway in the top 5? I don't see it. |

They are such a mess right now I just cannot see where a winning streak is going to come from. |

it still gets the pitch fork weilding "why didn't we get that guy" people going.. |

Come on.......
You mean to tell me YOU don't like Euros?
No way. - dadeadhead
Given my choice, I'll take NA any day.
but...
Malkin is a red anomaly; I'd take him.
Teemu is one of my favorite players of all time.
Zetts is an awesome player
and that pretty much sums it up. |

To me, it's almost a necessity to have a guy like him on the team.
He is a mirror image of Drury from the past, and Callahan from the present. - kingcong39
Ok but I wouldn't take him over Duchene or Tavares. |
|
|
|
This is all pointless. The Sabres are not trading Myers. It is not happening.
Also, no one is trading the type of centers we would all hope to acquire for Myers. The Flyers are not trading Giroux. Not happening.
If you want a number one center you need to develop one. That is generally how it is done. - SabreSufferer
If I'm not mistaken the past 10 Stanley Cup Winners have home grown bonda fide #1 Centers (except Boston I think) |

Gunner's gonna be pissed. - dadeadhead
I would have liked to have him again for sure. I was thinking that the price would be about a 2nd round pick, but the Canadiens did well and I don't think the Pens would have gone that high. I still like him though, great guy to have this time of year. I don't think the Pens will make any big moves. |

I think he deserves to be on your short list. |

that statement is just as valid as saying Meyers will or won't be good. You don't know we wont win the cup without him, just as much as saying with him we will win the cup.
All I'm saying is sell high, get a decent center in here, help teh team now becasue our current talent may not be around long enough to see myers mature.... if he does at all. - Full Throttle
Your sell high point is totally accurate. People in here accuse Darcy of being in love with his players and overvaluing them, but a lot of posters in here do the exact same thing. We should be willing to move any player on this team if it makes the team better. One player doesn't win you a cup. |

If they don't land in the top 5 any center they draft will be 2-4yrs away.
This is why I'd move that pick. |

The relevance is the the players and picks Montreal was able to get for Gill, a decent but not great defenseman.
The Sabres should be considering moving at least three defensemen right now. Every team that makes a deal for one reduces the number of trading partners by one. |

An equivalent trade on the Buffalo end would be trading Myers for Semin.
Is that a slam dunk move? - kingcong39
I don't think it's equivalent. Semin is a LW (not what we need) and has had several terrible playoffs already in his career. Further, he's a UFA at the end of this season.
I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on him in the market, but I would never trade for him. |

If the Sabres ever decided to trade Regehr, which I would not, they should get an even better return than what Montreal got for Gill.
I would think teams would line up around the block to add Robyn for the playoff run. |

Hall Gill sucks. He's a human phone booth. He cost Montreal that game 7 by himself.
I see what your saying though. Everyone else making moves, not us.
I'm past blaming Regier. If you knowingly leave an incompetent person in charge its to be expected, TERRY! |
