Wonder how long a poster would get banned for threatening to track down a blogger and burn down a his house? Unreal. Guy is a basket case.
- BringBack25

A pooint I just made to management. Or how long 2Real would get for defending himself (if he weren't already on a little vacation).

Except the black jerseys.
- PLindbergh31

I always liked the black jerseys, but they don't seem to get much love on here. I wouldn't mind seeing them come back.

Actually, he'll pass last year's count by the end of the weekend

I didn't know it was Hartnell who was responsible for Simmer's damage.

Actually Gusty said he told them to each be responsible for their own actions and to have fun. Whatever works, I guess.
- bodiva88

And Talbot said, "It wasn't pretty" when Coatsey asked him what happened.

I guess Gus doesn't want to be a quote machine.

On another note, just saw the Mike Smith/Kopitar, uh, 'scrap'.

Sustained a lower body injury from the fight?

It's probably his knees. They both buckled after getting rocked with a jarring left.

- 77rams

Someone said he seemed to wrench one going down. When he fell it looked like he landed hard on his hand and we thought he might have broken it. But unless they count hand as lower body because it hangs below your waist...

Missed the game... what happened?
- jak521

Max in a scrum at the net after the whistle kept poking at him and Gerbe jumped at him but fell forward and literally ended up going at Max's knees. We were howling.

Gerbe is the smallest player in the league. They're rangy defenseman Myers the second tallest.

I like the trade for Grossman. He is going to be a solid D. I would still like get a nice young defenseman either Schenn or Johnson, and maybe Adam Hall and Gaustad to give us a solid checking line.

Also, I really liked how once Lavi switched up th elines, they scored.

I'm not looking to trade him...and I'd prefer the deal you mention. I'd hate to see JvR turn into LeClair somewhere else.
- Jsaquella

That's my only worry too. JvR has the size and tools... it's just frustrating as hell to see him be too scared to use what he has. Lavy needs these bigger guys to start eating glass and get that fear out of em.

I'm glad you made that point, sensationalism in writing is one thing, but borderline threatening a guy goes beyond professional. I enjoy this site, but Barry has to be more professional.

It was a good play no question, me saying tap in made it sound like a better pass, I'm just spreading some love.

Remember when people wanted Hartnell traded back in October

- Buts16

I know I was one. I wanted no one out of here more than Hartnell. I'm glad I was wrong. Really, really glad. But honestly, Hartnell hadn't played like this in 3 years. I thought he lost his heart out there. Thought maybe he'd pack up the van and start selling insurance in some remote part of Canada.

I'd keep ruff. they have had good success under him and unless you are absolutely positive there is a young guy out there that is going to do a great job just wait it out and fix the players.
- nails

I think Ruff has to go. He's just been there too long and the team has clearly tuned him out. I never really thought he was that good to begin with, but he's certainly past his expiration date now. There is talent on that team. They should be much better than they are playing.

Leino got a handsome contract based on 19 playoff games. There is no other body of work on his resume. Not to mention he has a chronic hip injury
- PLindbergh31

i think the new owner was trying to send a message that the Sabres were going to be players in free agency from now on and they over paid to get Leino... but i thuink most players are overpaid during free agency..

I think Pegula cleans house as soon as their season is over.
- Jsaquella

He really should have done that when he took over.

I can see giving Ruff this season out of respect for his long service, but Regier should have been gone.

Bill,

Can Grossman play the right side for a left handed shooter? I believe Stephane Robidas is a righty, so that makes me assume Grossman has seen a lot of the left side and many defenseman aren't very adaptable to changing sides. For example, I guess Timonen can play the right side but is more comfortable on the left. Then early this season when Matt Walker didn't play the first few games due to injury, Meszaros asked Coach Laviolette to keep him on the right side, while Coburn was the one to shift to the left.

I like the trade as well. Many were naming Grossman as a guy that they wanted to pick up and I for one didn't know much about him. I think I kept mixing up names with Grossman and Goligoski.

As for Jagr, it's good yo hear it's only the Flu. I asked last night what happened to him and someone responded that he was hit in the face with a puck. Obviously they meant Simmonds. It will be interesting to see what Sestito does next because tough guys normally fight through injury and I'm unaware of how serious. Briere is a wild card though. If he's concussed, we gotta forget about him for a while either way. If it's a shoulder, it depends on what he can handle and how seriously hurt he really is.

Either way, I don't see how the Flyers can't win without Briere for a bit. Hartnell, Simmonds and Schenn have bought Briere time.
