I see were all in the dump prospects and picks mode for ufas again. Not me. I'm good with the roster. Let's go to war
- Just5

It doesn't hurt to tweak the roster by losing a couple picks or prospects for a proven player. The UFA aspect isn't that big of a deal considering the Flyers ability to resign said UFA's.

I get that feeling too. It's not going to be earth shattering, but it will makes us tougher.

I don't think he wants to be. Seems he is happy with the A. I heard/read apparently we are interested in stoll from LA for picks?

I've missed any notices on Grossman in practice. Who has he been paired with so far?

I gotta say that sent me on a mission of lost hot girl pic trolling. Odd I know but generating creative energy does this to you. As I recoup myself and return from being lost in the woods, I have this to say.
The Flyers should be after a guy like Stoll, Gaustad, Moen etc. Yes we have Talbot but Couturier needs to get off that 4th line and up higher where his talents can be better utilized. Our PK would be done a great justice by adding another forward to take G's spot so he can focus on putting the puck in the other team's net, not get worn down or injured etc. Then perhaps an additional defensive forward would help in the oh so lacking team defense. That said I'm going to bed. Okay so I'm lying I'm going to log off the computer finish this twelve pack, smoke some ciggarettes and think about the universe. Then go to bed

I did finally get around to reading what's going on with Grossman in practice and you are in fact correct.

Timoen-Coburn
Grossman-Meszaros
Carle-Burdon

Not mad but Carle is the guy I'd like to see an upgrade next to. I'm not really understanding why Lilja isn't getting in more games. The last few he has gotten into, I didn't think he looked bad. Plus Burdon's play hasn't been great. Not bad but not nearly as exciting or promising as he was when he first got the call up. I feel Burdon could only benefit from a break.

Thoughts....

* Like the Grossman deal. Seems like what we needed - young, solid now, still hasn't reached full potential. Hope he does well enough here to make me want them to re-sign him, which should be possible for a decent cap hit.

* Preds, what were you thinking? Gill is a solid player, but to me it seems like they overpaid unless they had completely just given up on Geoffrion and decided he was a bust. And why the hell to the Preds even need Gill? They are stacked on D (and goalie) already. I would have thought the Preds would be looking for offense. I don't get it unless...Ekinoes (a mutant form of dominoes only visible to Ek).

* The Stoll idea is intriguing. I think he could help us in several areas, and I like the idea of getting him for picks, as long as there are no first round picks involved. I'd rather throw in a Phantom or two before I'd give up a first rounder. Plus, we'd need to move a contract anyway to make room. LA is in the 8th spot now though, so I'm not sure they've decided they're sellers yet. They may want a roster player with some scoring potential back, in which case I'm no longer interested.

* I want no part of JJ. If you think our coverage is bad now....yikes.

* I think the Bolts will want too much for Kubina. Again, I like the player a little but don't want any first round picks or roster players going the other way. After signing Grossman, I'm not sure we need Kubina. I'm good with MAB/Lilja at the six spot.

* Speaking of the Preds, none other than everyone's favorite man crush Ryan Suter was absolutely burnt to a crisp by Mr. Datsyuk on the game winning goal tonight. He's certainly not the first to suffer that fate, but he sure as hell didn't look like a 6 million dollar man on that play. He's gonna have to watch the replay to find Datsyuk. What a move.
