I guess the thinking is MAB adds a little more grit and sandpaper than Gus.
- PLindbergh31

Hardly though. MAB got bodied around by Gerbe on one shift last night.

just watchin some grossman clips...

When he throws a hit it seems like guys just about always go down.
He seems pretty poised.
He isnt afraid to back down from a fight (although he doesnt seem to look for one either).

Then there is this clip. Takes a blade to the face (pretty nasty gash for the weak stomachs out there) but skates off like a boss. Totally composed!

Does Gill make Nashville a threat to Detroit, St. Louis, Vancouver, SJ? I think if Rinne plays out of his mind they are a threat, but they would be without Hal Gill.
- PLindbergh31

they certainly have a heck of a defense and one of the best goalies.

Damn.. i thought it was his abdomen. He looked like he pulled something as he went down.. you could almost see him bend like his stomach was hurt.

And Gustafsson let Stafford skate around him for a glorious scoring chance (that he didn't finish).

Both guys have their weaknesses. MAB has looked a little steadier/confident out there, IMO.

Probably going to have too. If Jagr and Briere can go, that's 12, with no spare.

I think I am one of the very few who likes MAB as a #5/6 dman on this team.

EDIT: meaning moving forward.

Which is why I'd still prefer one more trade if the price is right. Kubina would be nice, but that's probably doubtful given the abysmal defensive market.

I have hopes for both of them.
I think Bourdon has shown some good instincts and is tough, and Gusty has some good skill.

Be interesting to see what they do. any trade will have to involve some sort of body going back the other way being they are at 50 contracts with the addition of Grossman. Please keep the kids and #1 picks Homer

Ryan Bright is saying that Gus will be sent to the Phantoms. Not sure if that's true or Seravalli math.

wouldn't mind that at all. I mean, if they have no plans for a kid then definitely take a pick for them.

Honestly with the top 5 set and Lilja here, i'd sooner see him go back and get mega playing time for now rather than be in and out of the lineup here. Also wouldn't surprise me cause the Phantoms apparently are having injury issues down there (well technically up there) as well.

Definitely. Does him no good to sit in the press box.
