Eklund, are you saying guys like Bob Mckenzie had the wrong info? I usually trust him and he said Vancouver was not on Nash's list.
Gillis was on the radio today and said they aren't going after Nash. - woopstash
I'd believe Gillis. The trades he makes are usually ones you don't expect. I can't recall him ever saying "no" about a player only for that player to arrive shortly after. I could be wrong though. |

Ya, it's been the same answer every time I've heard him: "We're keeping Schneider unless a deal that blows us away comes along."
I'm not sure how familiar Eklund is with West Coast teams but I heard it's pretty well known that Nash is not going to Vancouver (If they were even on his list). |

One thing for sure, the fantasy offerings from VAN for Nash that I've seen on HB would soil Gillis rather than blow him away. |

Let's just call it safe and this point and say Nash is drawing interest from every team in the NHL except Columbus. - Datsyuks_Dangle
It makes no sense. That team needs to be marketed. How do you market a team without a star. What other star who is on a good 3-4 year contract with a no trade would go there? Who is on that type of deal who isn't on a no trade?
Neither Nash or Carter will go at the deadline. They go at the draft.
Umberger will go for a goalie that they desperately need and Nash will go for a centerpiece forward and d-man. Carter will go for a 2nd liner and a 3rd-4th dman. |

Poille said he'd rather have weber for a strong playoff run and risk losing him rather than make his team weaker going into the playoffs.
You never know Nashville is the kinda team who may underdog their way to the cup final or conference final and weber may decide it's the team that may give him the best chance k decide to resign. |

That's my gut feel as well. Especially Carter, who might only be attracting attention from a few teams now that have some cap room vs a bunch more come June. |

carter to buff may be an e3 but buffalo being perennial bottom dwellers if the deal goes through is an e5 |

That would be a colossal rip off by the islanders, so I would say not even close. |

edit: not saying he's available, just that his style and heart is what this team needs |

Uh, Poile said that about Suter. Weber will be an RFA. Why in the hell would we trade an RFA Weber when we got the #5 seed atleast locked up? |

Yeah I guess I got a year ahead of myself. That's my fellow Canucks fans thinking any player that gets good from bc should or could easily be had. Getting pretty sick of these Nash/weber/parise/perry trade proposals. It's kinda like the quebecers believing they should have dubs on all French players |

I think the only way the Canucks would make this deal if it was Schneider, Raymond, Ballard and Schroeder......Hodgson is untouchable. |

i was saying on the canuck thread; if you are going to sell the farm then sell it on a need. nash is great but he's a high risk, high reward type player. |

If Vans GM even wants Nash, Schneider and Hodgson will be the first two pieces asked for. If Van gets Nash without giving up Hodgson that would be highway robbery. |

It just doesn't make sense to trade Hodgson for anybody. It works out perfectly when the Sedins slow down he'll take over the number one center spot and captain. He's actually a huge part of this team. His points per minutes played is unreal for a rookie. Not many teams have that production from their third line. The depth will be key in the playoffs. Plus Nash contract is quite the cap hit moving forward. They're not gonna put themselves in future cap trouble while losing Hodgson. Schroeder is no slouch. He's NHL ready. |

Three LEGITIMATE sources have given the same list of 5 teams and VAN is not one of them. Dumb-ass post just to get VAN fans excited and subscribing to the site.
And even if they WERE on the list, no way they'd give up all those blue-chips for a 7.8M cap hit.
I'm putting my money on TOR and LA...and maybe even a 3-way deal between them all. |

Thank you for the inevitable Vancouver twist.
No way on God's Green Earth is this going to happen. And not for the $$$ structure. We pions who make thousands as opposed to millions are not really all that concerned.
We would have teh vast majority of our salcap in too few players. Suicide.
That and it will take Nash awhile, maybe even until next year to get used to playing with talented players and figure out how to use them
I do not want to see CS go.... only for a Superstar.... and this does qualifty but they will need to take Ballard for sure, give us a D at 1/2 the price to compensate.
Then they will want a top 6. Maybe............. MAYBE...... Burrows. Could be a surprise move. he does not have a NTC and Bitz served well on the top line.
Lets face it... Anson Careter scored 30. Burrows is a great guy. Butu he is expendable. |
