Word on the Hockeybuzz world is Kubina for Ballard. Allen for 3rd or 4th round pick... Jason King will try to sign with the Canucks too this summer.

I like ballard... and personally think a pairing of ballard- tanev is competant enough.. but I want insurance for when Salo goes down. Im not comfortable with Rome coming in. Dress 7 D some nights.

Probably take Schneider, Hodgson, Ballard, for cap reasons, Raymond or burrows and a pick for Nash and a dman. Too much to give up imo.

If Ballard is on long term reserve then the Canucks have cap space. Raymond (who everyone loves), Schneider and a prospect for a player like Nash. For that type of cap hit though, no thanks. I'll take JVR instead and give up less if I want a power forward.

No Alberts is a capable fill in guy... 10-12 minutes a night.

I think Kubina paired with Edler.... Salo and Ballard... Hammer and Bieksa.

Thats looking real good... if Salo goes down... put in Tanev. If you are playing a big physical team maybe dress Alberts as a 7th guy.

I hope to God this rumour has no legs. As Ek rightly notes, Nash coming in at that salary would already cause issues in a locker room full of home town discounts, never mind giving players up in return. F* that. Let TO give up the farm for him.

Given our current team, Weber is the only guy I'd consider parting with that big a return for. Really hope MG is feeling likewise.

Too many D... I think Ballard brings more than Allen.. and I feel Kubina brings more than Allen.

If Kubina is going to take like a 1st and a 2nd.. then yes I would go for Allen. But if the returns were pretty similar... Kubina is the guy.

I'd love to see... 1st/2nd and Raymond for Kubina and Downie. Although I hear Downie is a bit of a head case... so tough to say.

Should be no problem. I traded Ballard, Raymond, and Higgins for Nash, Boll, and Methot on NHL 12 last night. They thought they were ripping me off!!

Ballard is on long term injury reserve. Tanev was called up today. Tanev is an NHL defenseman. The kid is amazing. Needs to bulk up a bit but it never stopped guys like Rafalski or Nieds from being stars. Nieds is in his own class but man Tanev is good. I wouldn't trade him for Nash. You can't bring in a guy making that much. It's the same reason why he won't end up in Detroit.

So not gonna happen, where do you hear this crap ? Canucks do not need nash, they need D. This makes no sense. They would have to include kesler, hodgson, schneids and a pick, a over payment by a mile. But i guess ek needs his web hits.

Try Schneider, Raymond, Ballard and a pick.

Let's just call it safe and this point and say Nash is drawing interest from every team in the NHL except Columbus.

Can you imagine Luongo waiving his NTC to go to CLS?

Clearly Columbus values Schneider as the one potential available young NHL player that would have the biggest impact in turning around that franchise. I can't argue with that and would feel the same if I was their GM. Getting Schneider in a package plus adding Yakupov/Grigorenko would be a great start. I would think they won't trade Nash until Vancouver backs out. Which is why I think this rumour is out there and force Gillis to have some heat from their fans/owner to pull off this deal. I'm sure Gillis will look at it and try to find a fit but personally I don't see one with their salary structure.

What's the difference???? Weber makes almost the same as Nash...if that's the case they'll be offended by him making more as well.
2ndly defense wasn't our problem last year...when you only score 8 goals in a 7 game series you can't expect to win.

I find this little list that he's put together quite humorous in a way. He's contracted to CLS for 6 more years. If CLS don't find an offer to their liking then too bad for Rick Nash. 6 more years at CLS it is. I haven't heard CLS come out and say we really need to trade this guy, but more so that Nash has indicated enough is enough. The ball might look like it's in his court but that might be an illusion.

The difference is Shea Weber is is one of the best D men in the league, the kind that almost never become available. We're all assuming Bieksa magically picks it up in the playoffs but I'm not so sure. Only Hamhuis has looked to me like a consistent top pairing D man.
