NO Stall for me. Getz is doable Speeza, Tavares.
- mvp0207

I dunno...Kane for Jordan Staal + a dman solves alot of PK, faceoff and grit issues as well as the 2nd line C and 2nd pairing D issues.

Spezza is talented, but inconsistent most seasons and injury prone. Tavares is a no brainer.

I know wat you're saying, but my point still stands also....

Just because all those guys were traded, doesn't mean it was the right thing to do. If they had the ability to, I'd be willing to bet they would un-do every one of those deals with the possible exception of Larmer. He deserved to get his name on the Cup, even if it wasn't here.

The last thing they want is to add Kane to the list of colossal trade blunders.

- Ogilthorpe2

I totally agree. I would not want to see him traded for anything less than 3 or 4 pieces that help the areas of need.

More likely.
- Ogilthorpe2

He is going to have be packaged up or part of salary dump for a pick/prospect.

His numbers and the way he has been used indicate Frolik is overpaid.

Normally I would completely agree with this. But the Rangers play a nasty game. And maybe I give Q a pass this time as he is tired of watching Toews get worked over. I would actually much prefer Scott and Frolik sit and Bolig got a call up.
- ilinkhawk

So the Hawks are going to get wood-shedding tonight is what you're saying?

Ok, but Scott does zero, nada, nothing to prevent or counter this from happening.

You trade Kane for 3-4 2nd tier players/prospects, you likely lose that deal. You need an impact player back IMHO.

Wanted Kubina 2 years ago when he was with ATL... I guess it worked by not getting him...

Purcell would be a nice aquisition.

- Nerko77

Yeah it worked out well...he cheap shots Bolland, who was playing well, giving him a concussion, costing the Hawks a better seeding last year, and likely costs them the first round series against the Canucks....

I'm not saying I wouldn't trade him for the right deal, just that you have to be careful. You're supposed to learn from past mistakes, not repeat them.

Plus, most of those guys originally listed (Roenick, Belfour, Hull etc) all left or were dealt for other than pure Hockey reasons...in other words $. Trading Kane would be a purely voluntary act with the intention of making the team better, not a forced act of desperation or retribution for daring to ask to be paid. Big difference.

If I were Stan, and had decided I was going to move Kane with designs on improving the team, I think I would need to get back either an equally young/established player of a completely different style (Think stud D-man or power forward), or a package of 2-3 really good, youngish, middle tier, preferably physical role players (Ladd/Clutterbuck types).

- Ogilthorpe2

For the return you're talking about, couldn't the Hawks just move Sharp and a top prospect or two and achieve the same thing? I don't see trading Kane as necessary.

I liked what this team brought in this area to that Nashville game. We are going to need to atleast bring that if not more. The Rangers have the players, size, mentality and the coach to bring some serious physical play. It was pretty evident on 24/7.. Very entertaining team to watch.

I hope so. Frolik is one player I don't agree with JJ on. Very little offensive upside and only shots come from bad angle or from far away from net (sorta like Jack Skille), plays hard, but makes no impact, losses board battles. Also paid too much.

You dont think Kane and Crawford would be enough for Miller and Myers you'd throw in Pirri and Bickell'Krueger as well. WOW thats a lot for a Dman who had a nice rookie year but has been a healthy scratch this year and a golaie with back to back sub par seasons.
- mvp0207

I don't think Buffalo would take just Kane and Crawford for Miller and Myers. If you think about it, you are adding Pirri, who I think is questionable to ever have a roll with the NHL team and Bickell, an underachiever who just about everyone wants to get rid of. I'm thinking the deal might need Kruger, perhaps instead of Bickell, if you wanted to pry Myers away from them or get Miller, Roy and Regher instead. Hawks not exactly dealing from a position of strength after losing 10 in a row (yes, I'm counting tonight as a loss).

I know nothing of Bollig other than what people say here but that would be a tough first night to cut your teeth on..

Prust and Rupp and good established 4th line guys that could hurt a guy like him.

I will say that I believe the Hawks get pounded tonight, BUT...

IF...

they don't, and they win, it could be a start of another kind of streak.

however, "playing well" and still losing won't cut it these days. two points are needed.

I know. I agree... But that was so freaking painful to watch the other night with Clowe / Toews. I don't think Scott deters at all. But he once did give payback on a Soupy hit. I am with you 99.99999% of the time. Like I said.. I would prefer Bolig got a shot. You need someone here who can skate and hit as well..

If (and only if) you're being serious:

3rd largest US market (maybe including Canada - dont know about Toronto.

Original 6 team.

Excellent fan base, for a US city.

After over 40 years they'd ignore all that? They even put a team back in Winnipeg, for heaven's sake.

- StLBravesFan

The Blackhawks are synonomous with NHL hockey anywhere you go in Canada and Chicago is known as a city that supports their hockey team. Not many wouldn't recognize or say they didn't love the Indianhead jersey. And the Golden Jet had alot to do with that.

Now teams like Phoenix, Anaheim, Columbus, Nashville, Florida, Tampa are a different story - just part of the Bettman legacy. As a Canadian I pretend they don't exist.

You'd never get Meyers. There was talk that Anaheim was willing to talk Getzlaf for Meyers and the Sabres said no.
- Slump Buster

That's why I added Kruger. Probably would need more to get Myers.

7 points in 35 games with a -10?

Must be something that doesn't show up in the stat sheet.

He's a useful player but is being cast in a different role now than he is used to and ......Is paid like he is a 20+ goal scorer who would replace Brouwer.

OH NO please dont tell me you are implying that this was a bad move also and we should have kept Skille. I dont see how florida can be happy with him his numbers are atrocious as ever.

Something he wouldn't do here. Play physical.
