Grabo says he wants to stay in TO but also wants $5M/yr. Burke wants to resign him but not at that salary. So like a good GM he will offer him 2 choices - $4M or spending some time playing for Columbus, NYI or somewhere like that.

Decent player but will have a tough time getting a $5M contract.

No Ruskies in Chicago please.

I agree, he isn't worth $5 million per season. He might have a tough time finding someone to pay that price, but he might be able to find someone desperate enough to pay it though. Tallon likes throwing money around, maybe he might pay that for him in the off-season?

He's not Russian, he's from Belarus. I don't know how much of a difference that makes?

You are sharp this morning Pri$ey.

Belarusian. They declared independence from the USSR about 20 years ago.

I think Gretzky's ancestry is Belarusian.

Looking on TSN I wouldnt hate snatching a player like Darcy Hordichuk from Edmonton. What would the asking price be for either Brassard or Vermette?

Don't understand why the Hawks picked up Brendan Morrison. If he's not good enough to play for you somewhere, then why pick him up? I know they didn't give up alot, but you're not playing the guy, so giving up anything was giving up too much. I wonder if Bowman told Q he was going to add this guy. If so, and Q said he liked the idea, then you wonder why he's not getting more of an opportunity to fit in. If he said he didn't like the guy for whatever reason, then it seems there's a disconnect between Bowman and Q as to what players this team needs. In the Sun-Times, Morrison says, "they're trying to see if they can find some chemistry and see what's going to work, but I'm not happy" Hard to find chemistry, when you don't play the guy. He also says he's not fully recovered from his surgery last offseason. Quenneville says, "His opportunity to stay with the same group for an extended period of time hasn't existed. He's been ok." Is that Q code for "this guy sucks, he's hurt and I'm not playing him!" Again, not a BIG issue, but it reminds me of the Lepisto situation and I can't help but wonder why our GM is adding guys to this team that the coach doesn't want to play. Frolik is also starting to fall into this category. GM signs him to a big contract, coach plays him in various roles, none for an extended period of time, and now he is one of the first guys to get scratched on a give night and I'm betting his confidence is just about shot.

2nd rd. pick and a prospect sounds about right; now if you included Schenn, I would say:

Grabovski and Schenn

for

McNeill and 1st rd. pick

Take out Schenn and you got a deal.
