Its always sad to be a Mets fan....but its a sad day if you are a baseball fan. Loved this guy

I'm a die hard Yankee fan, but I always respected the Kid. Seemed like a class act. Hard not to root for guys like that

Take it down a notch dude. Nino was god awful when he first came up in his own zone. So yea, learning the defensive side of the game was exactly what he is doing on the 4th line. He can't play in the AHL because he is under 20 yrs old. He is also dead on that guys are now developing properly in the AHL instead of being up with the big club.

Also the cap floor dictates that the Isles at the start of the season needed to sign the assbags they signed just to get to the cap floor.

The one thing none of us get is why Rolston isn't sitting in the press box. Anyone in the orginization brings more.

- Isles316

I don't think I need to take it down a notch at all, its my opinion. I think Nino was one of the only ones playing well before we got shelled by Pittsburgh actually. He was then stuck on the fourth line and has been delagated to it since then. There is always an excuse for Snow's moves, cap floor, veteran prescence, etc... I'm impressed that you KNOW why he is stuck on the fourth line? He is learning the defensive game from Reasoner? Thats unusual? Really? What justifies this? Just bcs its the fourth line? Pandawful WAS one of the best defensive fwds in his prime but is not even a plug at this point so it makes no sense? There are better ways to reach the floor than taking on Rolstons salary who has been washed up and not producing for two seasons now, just ask any Devils fan. There is NO reason to continue playing Rolston on the first PP unit when we have all of this "youth" chomping at the bit to get in here. There is no reaoning or making sense of these decisions by management and the coaching staff. You "specualting" that they are perfecting Nino's defensive game on that line is what it is, speculation. If thats their reasoning then its skewed.

It's far from the most ridiculous post you've ever read on here. I can assure you of that.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this team seems to have trouble signing legitimate free agents. So it's either go with who wants to play here and let young guys develop the way they should or fill out the rest of our roster with inexperienced kids and run the risk of ruining them, a la Josh Bailey. You, and others, would be whining that we have a ton of young, clueless players if that were the case, just as much as you do about the guys that are here now.

As far as my "ludicrous" idea of Nino "learning" from and being "mentored" by Reasoner on the defensive aspects of the game...the only thing ludicrous is the notion that you believe that Reasoner is the one teaching Nino anything. I'm not sure if you've ever actually played the game of hockey, but when I played I did my learning from the coaches, not the guy who centered my line or my defensive partner. You're telling me when they go into a film session that Reasoner is the one standing there with a laser pointer telling Nino what he should and shouldn't do? Doubt that.

Oh, and Rolston actually gets no time on the first PP unit. That would be Streit and Frans on the point with Tavares, Moulson, and PA up front.

- eichiefs9

Probably not the most ridiculous, got me there! lol. Don't start with the "ever played the game of hockey" shat bcs its tired. Played my whole life and still play and I'm pushing fourty. If he's learning from the coaches then why play him on the fourth line?

Philly just traded for Grossman from Dallas. I'm not familar with him so I cannot say if the Isles should have been in on him. It's too bad it's Philly the team always seeming to be making moves. Wish it was the Isles turn.

BTW like the Reasoner power point comment, very creative. Way to deflect from what you know I'm truly saying. If you are such a big hockey player you would know if you play long enough with anyone you adapt and absorb and learn from the players you play with. Even though that line has zero chemistry if you don't think Nino is "learning" every aspect of the game from his line mates then you're wrong.

and one more thing... I watch every game this team plays and if you think Rolston has not been on the first PP unit this season you are mistaken. He has seen time on both.

This should be interesting the next few. Tonights game should be a brometer as to what we do I would guess. Common sense? We are talking about Snow though, flip a coin! lol

The sooner you realize the Isles are cheap facks the sooner you won't be disappointed when they continue to sit on their hands as usual

Nabby will have to stand on his head again. Tonight will be very tough. No matter what I cannot see the Isles being very active at the deadline.

At the end of the day, I don't think it's a big deal that a 19 year old is on the 4th line. In my opinion he hasn't done anything to deserve more ice time except suck less than Rolston. He has 1 goal and 0 assists and isn't exactly creating scoring chances for he and his teammates.

The bigger issue are guys like Rolston trotting out there each game.

I just think by watching Nino earlier in the season, it was obvious he looked lost in his own zone. I don't think Capuano wants a guy out there that he doesn't trust defensively. Cappy also has only really switched up the lines twice this season so it's not like other players have been moved up and down in Nino's place. Still, there are bigger issues to worry about. He has the same stats as Pandolfo for crying out loud.

Cappy changed the lines twice? That seems like a lot for him. I would have changed lines 100 times this year with this lousy offense.

He has made major changes to the lines twice. And even that wasn't a major change. He's been rolling the same lines now for about 20 games at least.

With scoring about 1 goal a game I can see why he would not want to mess with success. Just because Nabby is playing lights out and the Isles are winning more does not mean the offense cannot improve.

True but is the goal to make the playoffs? See the Isles do not have a clue what they want to do and end up doing nothing while other teams make all the moves.

I hear you. I don't agree. Having you're fifth overall pick on a line with Reasoner in my opinion is not a way to develop your player... Defensively, offensively, at all... He is not being given an opportunity that just about every draft pick this team has picked has had. We'll agree to disagree. Makes no sense to me and never will.
