If you could move JvR, Bob, and a pick for Nash would you do it?

Columbus would probably ask for JvR, Voracek, and a pick or Bob minimum. You could add Schenn, Couturier, Read in that Voracek spot. Thats too much for Nash imo.
- stveshdy

I think JVR, Meszaros, and 2 firsts would do it... But I wouldnt...

My Deadline wish list is:

1.Weber or Suter.... Which I think is HIGHLY unlikely.
2. Schenn or Johnson.... at this point I'm giving it a 25%.
3. Visnovsky and Selannie or Kubina and Moore... again maybe 30%
4. Gill, Allen, or Grossman.

last 3 seasons plus this year

Nash 123 goals
Carter 127 goals

Carter plays center and makes $2.5m less than Nash.

No thanks

No his cap hit is too much. It will make the Flyers what they were in the 90's because now Homer can't build a team if he wants to b/ of the cap. Giroux is a better player so when his deal is up he's gonna want 7 or 8 million. So 15-16 million tied up between two guys? No effin way. That and there is no gaurantee Nash gets better playing with G. You need to build a team to win the cup not have a superstar and everyone else. Did we win in the 90's with 2 or three guys that could score? No and that is what will happen if we get Nash.

I want to improve the defense first also. That is top priority on the Flyers list. What good is it if you can score a ton of goals but cant stop anyone. Flyers are 2nd or 3rd in scoring but struggle. Everyone knows when playoffs come around teams win with good defense and goaltending.

To be fair Buts, Carter played with better talent. Nash could of done more damage playing for those Flyers.

I can't believe goaltenders in the 50's played without masks. Yes I realize the blades of the sticks weren't curved, and the guys weren't as big and strong.... still seems insane to me.
- PLindbergh31

Ever get a close look at their faces?

How about Glenn Hall playing 7 full seasons (502 games) without missing a game? And without a mask!!!

That's a record that will never be approached.

It can be done though. Pittsburgh has two players making 8.7M per year. When you look at their roster they have plenty of players making good money, you just have to get the right pieces that work for your team. Granted those two players are Malkin and Crosby. LOL.

In addition, the Flyers have an organizational philosophy -- which I respect -- of not trying to wait for that "special future year" that may never come. They believe in trying to take their best shot every year. Apart from the playoff revenue considerations, Snider has a competitive streak a mile wide (as does Luukko) and can't abide the thought of throwing in the towel on a season, especially when the team is already of playoff caliber.

Whether folks like it or not, always playing for "this year" is how the Flyers operate, and that's not about to change anytime soon.

I wonder if Homer and Yzerman are going to work something together. I mean they need a Goalie bad, and if Bernier is going to Columbus, thier options for getting a future goalie is getting shorter and shorter.. Bob could be really good trade bait.

Players I like that are available on Tampa
Kubina
Gilroy
Clark
Moore
Hull

All cheap players that would solidify our defense and give us a checking 4th line. Of couse none of them are worth Bob, so a 1st round pick would have to some back our way...

You could argue Carter would have had much better numbers if he was on the #1 line getting top PP time like Nash etc.

Nash is a good player, I just think he's even close to worth the cap hit or the asking pricie.

This is a question for basically anyone. Has Bobs trade value declined over the last month? Does he still net you a nice return? His numbers are headed in the wrong direction (the defense doesnt help).

Nash with Giroux wins you a cup quicker then getting some poopty 3rd pairing defender, rental.

Crazy. This might sound like a stupid question, but in the 50's the puck was the same material as it is now right?

A frozen puck being shot at the rates of speed they are shot at is like getting hit with a slab of concrete shot out of a cannon.

Will see what Carter can do if he gets stuck in Columbus as the guy. Nash has done plenty considering he has been the Blue Jackets. He gets all the attention when playing other top lines.

I'm trying to figure out how to take you. I generally like everyone here, but if joking that's one thing and I get it but if you're serious I'm concerned.
