You would certainly think so. Columbus is a mess, they trade for Carter to play with Nash, now 8 months later they likely will trade both guys. Howson has no idea what he is doing. That franchise has no direction.

He's got the Leafs currently in a playoff position.

So what't the speculation about what it'd take to get Kubina? (Or did I miss this already?)

Well being he is a UFA next year... I would assume just a pick or low level prospect?

No idea. I would think there would be a couple other franchises that would be relocated first. Panthers, Coyotes, and Islanders to name a few.

Seattle is going to get a new sports complex, Kansas City has been mentioned as a possible destination, and of course Quebec City. I would love to see a team back in QC. There was nothing like those Montreal/Quebec playoff series in the 80's. Those were absolute wars.

I think you mean UFA? He has had a rough couple of years offensively in TB, but IDK if a pick will do it..

Kubina excites me a bit more than a lot of the other D man names thrown around, which means he'll probably cost more than I'd like to give.

I would much rather see a physical defensive d-man, than a struggling offensive d-man who is a career -99

I watched Gill pretty closely last night. He had an egregious turnover that led directly to a Bruins goal, but he did perform well on the PK using his reach and size, as well as blocking some shots.

Just stopping by to place my vort for Kubina. He & Carle would look real good together. Maybe then Gustafsson plays with Timonen, where he looked good last season (in a small sample, mind you).

He's a great addition... when he's on an opposing team.

For those of you that want some checking defensive forwards... Dominic Moore and Adam Hall are available and are cheap. Moore make 1.2 mill and Hall make 600k. Kubina and Gilroy are also mentioned to be on the block, and both are pretty cheap as well... Could be a steal if Homer can put a package together for some of these guys...

Gustaffsson with Timonen? WHAT!?!?!

Gustaffson would be the 6th d-man and would play next to no minutes in the playoffs.

Yea the turn over was a bad one.. but what I noticed after it shows me something.

He had a brutal turnover, but busted his ass to do his best and get back in the play and try to block the shot.

He would be an instant improvement to MAB,Lilja,Gusty.

Not the +/- stat again... Heck he has the third highest +/- for Tampa Dmen this year if you want to go that route.

And everyone except Stamkos struggles to find offense in Tampa.

Gusty has more potential than any other d-man in the system. Pairing him with Timonen would make sense.

yes, I think he would be a marginal improvement to those guys. But as always is the cost worth it? Gill doesn't put the Flyers over the hump in any way, and he would strictly be a rental.

Well yeah, missing the playoffs 8 straight years is a bit much. It's a better League when Toronto is good.
