Winnipeg started a tradition this year. Before every home game, the city votes on some website what visiting player will be booed. Usually it is the other teams best player but sometimes they get comical and choose a random 4th liner.
What would have been awesome was if they picked Rolston.

- brodydog29

Why does Rolston need other teams booing him on the road when he gets plenty of that at home

Something not right about the Jets/Thrashers blogger calling the Islanders "lowly." That team is only two points ahead playing in a division where, if the division leader didn't automatically make it to the dance, they could conceivably have no teams in the playoffs by season's end.

Maybe not, but help me understand something. Isn't the agent supposed to all the work on a contract and just present it to his client for a yes/no? If that's the case, why do athletes make it seem like such a distraction?

Or DP?

Talking abotu DP did anyone see him Newday posing. I laughed my ass off and thought I hope he retires and becomes a model. I can see if him singing that song froma long time ago by Right Said Fred "I am to sexy for my shirt to sexy for my shirt it hurts".

I could not beleive that.

Why wouldn't Suffolk work? 75% of season ticket holders are from suffolk
- Isles316

whered you pull that stat out of your ass from? AND lets just assume the stat is correct. the arena isnt exactly packed to the gills; id bet that if they move to a more centralized place where people can actually get to the game on time with mass transit, the islanders would sacrifice the 75% of season tickets from suffolk in exchange for 100% of the building being sold out

how do you figure??? the way i read it is that he doesnt want the islanders to have exclusive negotiation rights....he wants a bidding war IE hes going to the highest bidder....it would be a shame to see this overhyped player walk for nothing in return....TRADE HIS ASS!!!

That "Over Hyped" player has been the most consistent player since pulling an Islander Jersey over his head. No matter where he is placed, first line, second line, Third line, PP he puts up points..... Would be a shame to see one of the few productive players move on.

The quotes are good...says he wants a deal done before July 1, he wants to stay, he likes the team and coaches, etc. But actions speak louder than words...the Isles have to be wary of him not wanting to get a deal done before the trade deadline. At least the articles says the agent will "listen if the Islanders are eager to negotiate."

To be honest I really didnt know that 75% of the season tix were form Suffolk. Is that a fact? My thought process is that most Isles fans are from Nassau, western suffolk, Queens and some from Brooklyn. My personal gut feeling tells me that the further east they move, then less likely it will be that they finally draw big on weekdays. More traffic, farther travel times, games start too early, etc...
Brooklyn/Queens have mass transit and huge sponsorship potential. Using Brooklyn as an example, even if the building isnt full of Isles fans every night, it will still be full of "other" along with Isles fans. "Other" being the suits and corporate folks looking to attend a sporting event. Kind of what like MSG is on any given weeknight. Lots of people who have no idea what they are watching but still bringing revenue and business to the team/venue. You would never have that in Suffolk, or Nassau (unless you work in EAB Plaza).

They were probably drunk and thought his name was Lou Tavares.

at one point in the 3rd period they were doing the wave.. the game was either tied or a 1 goal difference. Did Winipeg not get the memo on the wave being done 10 years ago?

Holy Cow I wish I knew that.. I would have peppered that site with votes for Rolston or Reasoner.. THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN FANTASTIC. Wait.. can we start doing that at Islander games.

Unfortunately your right about this. I can see some crazy GM offering him 4+/per. If that's the case, I don't think he's worth that much. Not saying he's a dime a dozen but we got lucky with him and there's always someone else chomping at the bit for that chance if given the right time.

No that is not a fact.. I think the stat he is refering to is that about 60% of season ticket holders are not from Nassau. does not mean they are all from suffolk though.

I like the mix here...I rarely post anywhere else anymore. There are some insanely optimistic folks here, some insanely pessimistic folks, and people in between...and we can all usually BS about stuff without someone questioning whether someone else is a "real fan."

It is indeed a fact. Got that from my rep. He said about 2/3 full season and 75% of those that have some sort of plan

This comment tends to do with the first few pages of this thread (I couldn't stomach reading them all) but is also about any Isles thread in general. So many supposed Islander fans do nothing but whine, complain, b!tch, moan, and lambast Wang, Snow, Capuano, Goring, Nassau, and 1/2 of the players (not to mention past players and GMs, which I might add is beyond ridiculous). To those people who do that and then complain about free agents not wanting to sign on LI/the team being seen as a joke around the league, it is important to realize that you are also a cause of the very problem you complain about. If you don't realize other fans, players, media, etc. read what is written by Islanders fans and have a good laugh then you need start to. And don't use the excuse you pay money for tickets so you have the right to complain, it is your own fault for buying them in the first place. If you go to a restaurant and have a sh!tty meal, you don't keep going back to the same restaurant over and over, continually ordering meals that are continually sh!tty, just so you can complain. Lastly, sorry to the fans that don't do this, it was just a commentary on a chunk of the fan base that make the rest of us look like fools. That is all. Go Islanders!
- rob_one_six

No your the problem, you accept the poop the team feeds to you. Real fans demand perfection and success of their team - not sit there and root for horsepoop. This franchise has to much history and what is happening now is a complete farce.
