It is the life of an Islander fan. Either we are totally delisuional and feel this team is absolutely perfect or we are wayt to citiical pin pointing all there problems.

All in all just 6 points out

- kasperrko

The thing is...we have sucked so much for so long that every little bad thing gets magnified- there's really little difference between a shootout win or loss, but to us, the latter is a disaster. The reality is they're still very young- that's a lot of the inconsistency; a lot of why they look like the '76 Canadiens when they play Detroit, and the '76 Capitals when they play a team that's not nearly as good.

As I said- this was not only an expansion team when Snow took over, it was an expansion team with NO prospects, and a whole bunch of cr*p that it already had to shed. What we have now, considering that no one good will sign with us until we become competitive, is about what we should have, and it will only get better, IMO. Could Snow stand to stick his neck out, and trade for a good defenseman? Probably- but will that player sign here, long term? And if not, is that really worth it? That's all part of "why we don't do anything", and why we sign Rolston to make the cap floor....of course, why Rolston PLAYS is a different issue, but I digress...

Thankfully you are not Wang & He will keep the team where they belong.

I'd believe that if all of those involved didn't seem like a bunch of slimy dirtbags....ironically, both the Republicans AND the Democrats are the same collective, useless piece of sh*t on this issue....being as it's so rare that they actually agree on anything. Everyone is lining up to get his/her paycheck.

Well yes and no:
Yes, A scaled down lighthouse would get the a new building and keep them exactly where they are.
No in the fact that there is still the problem with no mass transit and ways to get to the game without using the traffic infested Meadowbrook Parkway or Hempstead Turnpike. The Isles attendance is dismal during the week because games start too damn early (7PM) and people never seem to get to the games in time while having to fight rush hour traffic to get there. Sucking for so long doesnt help their numbers either.

I personally think their BEST option would be Queens next to Citi field. Its close to the fan base while also providing subway and LIRR access. plus its in Queens so the sponsorship would flood in. Brooklyn is the next best option and I would welcome that in a second as it seems like the simple solution with a ready to go arena. Suffolk would be a terrible option, I can elaborate if you want but we all know why it wouldnt work there.

- NewYawkIslandez

Why wouldn't Suffolk work? 75% of season ticket holders are from suffolk

This comment tends to do with the first few pages of this thread (I couldn't stomach reading them all) but is also about any Isles thread in general. So many supposed Islander fans do nothing but whine, complain, b!tch, moan, and lambast Wang, Snow, Capuano, Goring, Nassau, and 1/2 of the players (not to mention past players and GMs, which I might add is beyond ridiculous). To those people who do that and then complain about free agents not wanting to sign on LI/the team being seen as a joke around the league, it is important to realize that you are also a cause of the very problem you complain about. If you don't realize other fans, players, media, etc. read what is written by Islanders fans and have a good laugh then you need start to. And don't use the excuse you pay money for tickets so you have the right to complain, it is your own fault for buying them in the first place. If you go to a restaurant and have a sh!tty meal, you don't keep going back to the same restaurant over and over, continually ordering meals that are continually sh!tty, just so you can complain. Lastly, sorry to the fans that don't do this, it was just a commentary on a chunk of the fan base that make the rest of us look like fools. That is all. Go Islanders!

Loved the fact that Tavares was booed every time he touched the puck. That ain't an insult thats the other teams fans realizing how great he is. I bet those boes were music to his ears. JT is the man!

Thanks...of course, I'm negative enough about the building issue; at least with the on-ice product, I can actually see a light at the end of the tunnel. As the saying goes, in the case of the building, that light always seems to be a train. That said, believe it or not, this is one of the less negative Islanders sites on the internet. Read IPB for a couple of days- if you weren't thinking about hanging yourself already...

It's just ridiculous how many dead horses are beaten to smithereens. It isn't just on here, it's most of the places that include Islander fan chat. As an out-of-town Islander fan, I don't get much reasonable hockey discussion because everyone up here thinks Jack Edwards is the epitome of excellence in broadcasting. So I check out various sites and just see the same thing over and over. Read the first two pages of this thread, it's pure misery. People were writing them off after half of a period. They won the game and played relatively solid. I don't get it.
- rob_one_six

You read and see the smae compliants cause they are legit. There are guys on this team that dont belong here and management for some reason does not see it. Just that we are sick of seeing the same thing year in and year out, but I will say this that we do look a lot better this year and I still hold on to the ope we make the playoffs. The only way though is if we keep Nabbyf or the year

Agreed. I noticed he only really gets booed in Canada. Maybe he is an ex convict or something up there

I like the mix here...I rarely post anywhere else anymore. There are some insanely optimistic folks here, some insanely pessimistic folks, and people in between...and we can all usually BS about stuff without someone questioning whether someone else is a "real fan."

Winnipeg started a tradition this year. Before every home game, the city votes on some website what visiting player will be booed. Usually it is the other teams best player but sometimes they get comical and choose a random 4th liner.
What would have been awesome was if they picked Rolston.

I could not beleive that.
