I never said they weren't. But for a team that already has bad publicity for other reasons and has a smaller fan base then many others, it has a magnified effect.

Funny, because the few times I've ever read anything in the media about Isles' fans, it was the writer sympathizing with us and admiring us for being passionate despite little to cheer for over the years. Never anywhere have I read something saying, "The Isles' reputation has suffered because UIF and Ses111 aren't crazy about Garth Snow."

If you don't like what some people post, fine...there's no problem at all with saying so here. Heck, JimmC criticizes us all the time when we start to whine too much, although he usually just tells us to go back to IPB. But to say like, 20 fans on HockeyBuzz venting to each other from time to time are even partly to blame for the Isles' state of affairs is...well, kind of asking for sarcastic responses.

This once again pretty much tells me one way or another the Islanders are not going to leave Long Island or New York. Something will get done is either Suffolk, Nassau Queens, or Brooklyn.

Again, the TV contract tells me that....but in a perfect world, the one place they won't be is in the Town of Hempstead, because it does not deserve them. If I thought for one second that any of these politicians and community leaders were looking out for the best interests of the community, I would not feel this way. However, these people are only in it for themselves....at least Wang, who is also in it for himself, actually cares about the team at least to an extent. The rest of these people....well, some of them, like Jacobs, are just basically the "look at my titties" type....negative pub is still pub.....a lot of the rest just expect "tribute" for the nothing they've done for Hempstead or Nassau County for the last thirty years or so...in any case, if I was Wang, I would call their bluff....buh-bye....

It's just ridiculous how many dead horses are beaten to smithereens. It isn't just on here, it's most of the places that include Islander fan chat. As an out-of-town Islander fan, I don't get much reasonable hockey discussion because everyone up here thinks Jack Edwards is the epitome of excellence in broadcasting. So I check out various sites and just see the same thing over and over. Read the first two pages of this thread, it's pure misery. People were writing them off after half of a period. They won the game and played relatively solid. I don't get it.

Well yes and no:
Yes, A scaled down lighthouse would get the a new building and keep them exactly where they are.
No in the fact that there is still the problem with no mass transit and ways to get to the game without using the traffic infested Meadowbrook Parkway or Hempstead Turnpike. The Isles attendance is dismal during the week because games start too damn early (7PM) and people never seem to get to the games in time while having to fight rush hour traffic to get there. Sucking for so long doesnt help their numbers either.

I personally think their BEST option would be Queens next to Citi field. Its close to the fan base while also providing subway and LIRR access. plus its in Queens so the sponsorship would flood in. Brooklyn is the next best option and I would welcome that in a second as it seems like the simple solution with a ready to go arena. Suffolk would be a terrible option, I can elaborate if you want but we all know why it wouldnt work there.

As long as they stay in New York which they will I dont care if it is Queens Brooklyn Suffolk. I hate NAssau County to be honest but Wang has a a lot of love for it for some reason. Probbaly cause he lives there
