Oooh, that's tricky. Well all they have to do is have one look at Florida to see what a quality GM can do to a team in 1 summer. It's amazing they don't see just how bad Howson is. - AlexF
Theres so many things wrong with them though.. its more then GM. They need an NHL caliber coach behind the bench but they cant get that because any NHL level coach will look at the roster and see that the pieces to make a competitive team are no where to be found. Thats not what Howson, or ownership wants to hear. So we get a rolling door of AHL coaches. |

Oh (frank) now. He's only the "centre piece" of the Richards trade...or did that change to Simmonds now? |

So do the Leafs, but for some reason Nash is still apparently the answer. - leafs93
It's been reported for months now that Burke covets a skilled power forward. Nash, Ryan, JVR all fit the bill there. |

I don't want Luke Schenn. In fact, nobody on the Leafs interests me. |

Though normally I'd agree...it is the Flyers fans in comparison. But perhaps the constant dream of having those amazing brothers together pushes the Leafs over the top. I myself was once of that dream...Luke was good and wasn't what he is now....now? (frank) him and his brother...who's so tough and Western Canadian that he get's his head pounded by a Russian. - weirdoh

It's still Schenn. The guy has the potential to be a future captain and all-star.
Simmonds is a potential 30-goal scorer though. Gotta love that trade right now. |

Every fan in the league wanted that guy. To act now like you didn't want him at the time is beyond funny. |

I'd do it for a 4th. Gill at least has the size we're desperately in need of defensively. |

So what if he's the "center-piece"? That doesn't change his potential.
He's not at all over-rated. Most people see him turning into a 60-70 point, 1b type center. No one's expecting some super-star, PPG player.

Obviously, but the potential is there. And I didn't say all-star winger with size; I said a skilled power forward. JVR is that without question. |

I disagree entirely.
To say Id just be "intrigued" in Cody Franson would be a huge under-statement.
I also wouldn't kind Kulemin. |

Well, I'd imagine if you got Tallon in CLS over the summer he'd be able to attract a decent coach. Quality coaches don't want to play for nimrod GMs. |

Yep. Good player, but not the guy some people seem to think he is. His play at the World Championships is way better than anything he's ever done at the NHL level. |

No, I didn't want him at the time. His cap hit wouldn't have made sense for the Flyers.
Ditto for Nash right now. He's got a monstrous figure for the next 7 years. |

I hear he is headed to the Max Lapierre school of boxing next summer, so put the rest of the league on notice. |
