I actually like Quincey better than Jack Johnson. Quincey might not have the shot but Johnson has times where he just stops thinking and makes really bad decisions. His effort has been knocked a lot as well.

Besides the Avs have their six of the future, just have to let it continue to grow.

I actually think the avs will need 1 more top 2 defenseman to play with EJ at some point. Ryan sutter would be the perfect choice but I dont see it happening. Behind that you have quincy, wilson, Seimens, elliot or barrie ( I think at one point the avs might trade on of them) and SOB until Seimens is NHL ready a few years down the line.

So what would it take to acquire Rick Nash? My first thought was something like Stastny/Landeskog/Barrie. Not sure I could do that though. Wonder if Columbus would consider Stastny/Jones/Quincey .. I doubt it.

Carter would be a much more reasonable trade, maybe for Stastny straight up. Carter may be listed as a center, but much of his time in Philly he played the wing.

Carter-Duchene-Hejduk
Landeskog-O'Reilly-Mueller

would look great as a top-6.

Siemens and Elliott are both going to be top two capable in a few years.

What would be wrong with

Duchene-Stastny-Mueller
Landeskog-O'Reilly-Hejduk

This sould be tested at least to finish the season and then the offseason can be used to make big changes.

Does Stastny have a no trade clause of any sort? If so I doubt he would go to CLB.

Carter is rumored to have some serious attitude problems though.

you need 3 strong centers in the nhl i dunno if i would trade stasney for carter with his injury history. i think there focus should be sign a winger this summer, or maybe trade hishon, gaunce, oliver, van der guilk, porter, see if you cant upgrade a bit! Sherman should have never let Thomas Flishmen walk last summer

ditto. I haven't seen much of JJ, but from what I hear he sucks defensively. Check out his +/- rating over the past couple years on a good Kings team, then compare it to Doughty who actually played against the other teams top players.

There was an interview, I can't find it, where Flash said the high altitude would increase his risk of another embolism so he didn't want to risk it.

The ideal situation may be to sign Parise in the off-season. But why would he choose us? Well we have the cap flexibility, even with some of our guys getting raises in the off-season. Also, we are a team on the uptrend, and especially with acquiring him should be a contender pretty soon. And finally, being a teammate of Stastny's on the Olympic team might help entice him.

I don't care if the Avs top 2 lines are doing well, making Duchene play on the third line is dumb in my opinion.

Put him between Landeskog and Mueller. O'Reilly can be effective on the third line while Duchene makes his talented winger produce.

Considering my previous point about their defense, the Avs could move O'reilly's line down to "third" line and split minutes evenly

they could do that no problem (pending another winger) and i think the team would benifit from it big time . . . 3 strong lines would be great!

Round it out with McLeod-McClement-Kobasew you got a roster.

AFter this year, get your winger to fill that right wing slot on Duchene's line and let the thunder roll.

i like the way you think! it would be sweet if they could get Parise but if not there might be some more affordable wingers out there that would do great with one of our great centers

Lots of people don't like him Semin seems to be a fit with Duchene and Mueller for an all skill line. Plus Semin is friends with Varly and might help the goaltender become more consistent.

i think that semin would be a amazing fit here the speed and talent he has is unreal . . . and he would be the bigest fish here not like in wash. if we could get him for 5 or 5.5 mil a year sure but any more might be to much for him! but i do like him

Lots of talent for sure.

Not sure he's the guy you want to spend 6.5M on though.

Aaron, I like ya but you are fooling yourself if you think the Avs have the skills to have 3 evenly balanced lines and be effective.

Landeskog-Duchene-Mueller would be awesome.
