He sits through most of the game, weather he is in the line up or not anyway..
- bixll

he might be okay against calgary.. its the speedier teams he has trouble against

Nash has never played alongside an elite- anything. Him with Kessel and Lupul would be a well balanced top line offensively.

and who would be centering that line?
- DOOBIS

Kessel obviously...he's the only one that has every played centre.

Carter and Nash for Kessel and Lupul.
- mykokes

dear god no. Instead of looking for a center for Kessel/Lupul, we'd be looking for a winger AND center for Nash... with less cap space available.

Keep Kessel and Lupul with Bozak. Put Nash on 2nd with Grabo and Mac and put Kule on 3rd.

Their problem is cap room. Their only expendable piece right now they can demote is Wolski, because Columbus would be idiots to take him. Trade wise, even adding dubinsky and Callahan, Gets them around the cap number to add Nash, but honestly, theyre creating bigger holes than the one they're patching up.
- p_zub

Apparently his reasoning was that the Rangers were offering Dubbie, a college prospect (i forget his name) and a first.

When you break it down like that...
Dubbie : 20 points this year?
College kid: Self-explanatory
1st: 25-30

I get why that's not a very good offer. I know dubbie is better than that and bring a lot to the table, but thats not likely enough, I wouldnt think.

It's true.

I heard that Brian Burke once went to a Phil Collins concert, and Phil Collins started singing In the Air Tonight, which is about Brian Burke drafting an American instead of a Canadian, and that Canadian player went on to drown in the pool of the hotel where the draft was being held, and Burke witnessed it, but did nothing because he hadn't drafted the Canadian...

He actually said today it does look like he won the trade but said he took some heat when the deal went down.

No idea why?

- whipper334

Does nobody remember the trade and the time. Hagman was one of our leading scorers, Ian White was quietly our best defender, and Stajan was a throw in utility player.

White is still a mid - bottom defender. The Wing wanted him

Phaneuf was playing crappy for two seasons straight, they threw in Aulie because of the dollar value of his contract. Nobody was sure he would rebound.

Problem there is that your top line is

SHOOT-SHOOT-SHOOT

Lupul and Kessel have 66 assists combined...clearly they're puck-hogs.

Because the game is in Calgary, so you need to get a guy on the plane so that if Gunnarson can't go, you have another body.
- Atomic Wedgie

have another body to do what?

sit in the press box?

i am just wondering out loud.. maybe gunnar is hurt worse than we think?

Be realistic. Komi who's a healthy scratch and Connolly who's not producing and don't forget he's a band-aid. If the leafs are going to acquire Nash were going to have to give up probably kadri schenn and a first rounder for him.
- lotempio8119

Hate to break it to you but its going to look like this,

Gardiner or schenn plus Kulimen/Kadri/1st 2012/1st 2013 at least and that might not get it done......

Gunnar has to miss at least 7 days to be on IR, meaning the whole trip. Might as well have a 7th guy.

Not to mention that I bet Aulie draws in tonight, not Komisarek. It's Calgary and they'll pair Aulie with Dion.

The problem is Dubinsky may never be more than a 50ish point player on average. If Columbus wants young guys, they want really young to develop them properly and give them time. I could see a Kadri-Johansen-Yakupov line being pretty slick in the future.

I wouldnt say that, both Kessel and Lupel have been assist monsters for each other. But a line of pure scoring wingers is a bad idea. A centerman has a lot more responsibilities other then puck distribution (ie. d coverage, face offs etc.)

What up y'all. I just saved all our problems:

Grabo, Kadri, Schenn, pick (or Reims/Monster) for Halak, Backes, Stewart

I am somehow lucky enough to be able to just co-cook a dinner with the gf then watch the Leafs game. I know there is a terrible terrible catch coming at some point, but I'm happily overlooking that for now.

Pray for me...

- clarkysduster

Dear lord (or whatever form of on-looking being there may be),

Please keep clarkyduster from harm. He does his best and what he can. Please give his girlfriend the strength to overlook his shortcomings and appreciate the little things he does instead of getting angry at the lack of big gestures.

Amen (or however you want us to end the prayer you on-looking being you)
