I really hope they can find a good fit for Komi somewhere. He doesn't fit in with our depth, but the guy shows up every time and tries his guts out. We don't hear in the media about him complaining and he seems like he deserves better. He can be an asset somewhere...just not here. - clarkysduster
a team who wants to reach the cap floor next year could be interested. next year he makes less than his hit. |

Right now, Lupul is 8th in the league in assists. Who are we going to trade for that is going to be an improvement on that? Shots on goal aren't a bad thing either...because pucks Can go in the net that way. Theyre essentially passing to, and scoring off of, each other. - p_zub
Im not trying to argue merits or whos out there. Im just saying Nash isnt really what we should overpay for if we do overpay someone. (Even though we better (frank)ing not overpay anywgere) |
|

|
Kessel is a very good passer also. For that matter, Lupul is not bad either. I think the shooter/playmaker thing is overrated.
Actually, I think the #1 Center thing is overrated. What the leafs REALLY lack is toughness and size all over the lineup. A big #1 center is not going to suddenly turn everything around. - GoneFullRetard
Exactly. They need A Gary Roberts, Darcy Tucker pairing. That bashes, cycles and can score. Wear down the other team's D. |

Cue the In the Air Tonight music.
Seriously, Snopes.com has already debunked this.
So has Mythbusters.

Nash has never played alongside an elite- anything. Him with Kessel and Lupul would be a well balanced top line offensively. - p_zub
Umm so would be the center? |

Hate to break it to you but its going to look like this,
Gardiner or schenn plus Kulimen/Kadri/1st 2012/1st 2013 at least and that might not get it done...... - Sherratt0204
Gardiner is in the untouchable category......... try again |

I liked the ending...a lot more darker like the book. |

Quick thought: If Howson deals Nash, he's asking for a goalie.
Bernier, Schneider, Rask, etc. - Brian Huddle
We have THE MONSTER!!! Does that work? |

Bozak.
Here's the opening line-up:
Lupul-Nash-Bozak-Kessel
Phaneuf
Reimer
Other teams won't know what to do.
Brilliant, eh? |

When was the last time you ever saw all that go for one player? Seriously? - mykokes
2006/07/03 Edmonton Oilers traded Chris Pronger to the Anaheim Ducks for Joffrey Lupul, Ladislav Smid, a 1st round selection in 2007, a conditional 1st round selection and a 2nd round selection in 2008.
2008/02/26 Atlanta Thrashers traded Marian Hossa and Pascal Dupuis to the Pittsburgh Penguins for Colby Armstrong, Erik Christensen, Angelo Esposito and a 1st-round selection in 2008.
On August 9, 1988, Oilers traded Gretzky, along with McSorley and Krushelnyski, to the Kings for Carson, Martin Gelinas, $15 million in cash, and the Kings' first-round draft picks in 1989 (later traded to the New Jersey Devils – New Jersey selected Jason Miller), 1991 (Martin Rucinsky), and 1993 (Nick Stajduhar).[62
Im not saying nash is worth tones but with only 4-6 teams selling, who will overpay to get him now? |

Keep Kessel and Lupul with Bozak. Put Nash on 2nd with Grabo and Mac and put Kule on 3rd. - gamedaytix
Grabo, Mac or Kuli, 1 of those 3 would be part of the package to Columbus. |

Why do we need playmaking centers per say? Look at Martin St. Louis, Eberle, Benn/Eriksson, Zetterberg, Pomminville... |

Does nobody remember the trade and the time. Hagman was one of our leading scorers, Ian White was quietly our best defender, and Stajan was a throw in utility player.
White is still a mid - bottom defender. The Wing wanted him
Phaneuf was playing crappy for two seasons straight, they threw in Aulie because of the dollar value of his contract. Nobody was sure he would rebound. - stevecarpetman
Aulie wasn't throw in.....Burke has already said, he had to be involved. |

there's actually a great interview of Burke on the FAN590 website (not sure if it is still there) where he describes exactly how it went down. Basically started as a player for player, and then Burke said he needed more, so Sutter said he needed more, and the deal kept growing. |
