I understand Nash would be an upgrade over JvR... but $7.8 mill per year for Nash is absolutely absurd. A guy making that kind of money better be breaking 100 points on an annual basis.

Exactly. JVR is signed at a reasonable cap hit, and many believe he will reach Bobby Ryan's level in the next few years.

IMO, he is still the long-term answer to play on Giroux's wing.

He isn't worth that given his cap hit. And I'd much rather save our assets for a trade in the summer for Weber.

That I do not agree with at all. I would trade JvR in a heartbeat, I do not see him as the answer on Giroux wing at all.

Plus, JVR isn't getting traded while he's still out with a concussion.

You don't think JVR has 40 goal potential?

For Nash? Where is the barf bag?

You could overpay for Bobby Ryan and not give up that much

I do, but I don't think he reaches that potential.

I see what I hated about Carter in JvR... hes dominant at times and completely irrelevant others.

JVR is still 22, and has a better work ethic than Carter IMO.

JVR was on pace for 30 goals this season before he suffered that abdominal tear.

Yea I think he does break 70 points playing with G, but not 7.8 million worth. 7.8 mill per year is elite NHL player money, Nash is not on that level.

Especally considering Giroux is gonna need to be paid probably that or more than that to be kept in Philly. Almost 16 million in 2 players? NO THANKS.

- Flyers2821

He is one of the elite Wingers in the League. And by the way, he has broken 70 points.

I mean, if they could get him for Bob + Read, color me interested. But other than that, no thanks.

And even then, his cap hit is a serious issue.

If you can trade him to get a proven forward to play with Giroux, I do it in a heartbeat. I don't even think twice about it.

OK, after extensive research, I have figured out what is "wrong" with Jagr. His pants are too damn short. By a lot.

Seriously, is there another player in the NHL that wears his pants that high up his leg? I don't think so. It's bizarre. Somebody please get this man a pair of hockey pants that actually fit.

Looking at this team's needs, and then looking at Nash, he couldn't be more opposite of what the Flyers need or should acquire.

Its a triple whammy.
His cap hit would blow us up.
He is not a very defensive minded forward.
He doesn't play defense.

Just say no.

7.8 million through 2018?

No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no NO!
