If that's all that Nash brings in, the Flyers should get Nicklas Grossman for a 6th rounder

I wouldn't mind Grossman.

Eric Wellwood back to ADK, per Tim McManus, the excellent beat guy for the Phantoms.

Just saying, if all Rick Nash is worth is a good goalie prospect, a fat guy, a guy with no hands and a pick, then the Flyers should be able to solve their defense problem more easily than a high school kid can solve his sobriety problem on a Friday night.

I just see the Bruins as charmed so far injurywise. I don't expect them to make it to the end of the season without a significant injury (and Savard doesn't count, I don't think anyone realistically counted on him).

Nathan Horton has just been shut down indefinitely with what speculation is post concussion syndrome.

That, and the hit from Rome in the SCF. My favorite hit of all-time. Horton is a pseudo tough guy who likes to squirt fans with water, they needed a spatula to get him off the ice when Rome freight trained him. Dude was staring up at the ceiling for 10 minutes.

I remember that.
RJ Umberger had the same look when he got pasted by Campbell.

I wouldn't be against Oduya, if he was cheap...but he doesn't do a lot for me, either.

Guess this means either Nash or Shelly are dressing... unless Voracek, or JVR come back from injury...

Just a what if cause we all know the Flyers are always all in but if they were to move Carle, what do you think they could get for him? I'm betting it would be a nice return esp with the lack of sellers.
- nastyflyergirl

Well since defensemen always seem to be at a premium, and being that there doesn't appear to be many sellers at this point in time, the return would have to be high wouldn't it? Burke was able to get a #1 and a #3 last year, for a crippled Versteeg.

Or it means that they sent Wellwood down because there is a Phantoms game tonight. The Flyers don't play until Thursday. We'll see what they do between now and then.

I'm guessing that Voracek is probably Ok to go. He was never listed as being more hurt than day to day. It'd be nice to see JvR stop faking.

i like what Lavy said to Pistacchio today. good stuff. with a straight face and a "seriously" at the end of it. you could touch the disdain.

JVR is out indefinitely still. Still no contact, and still having symptoms. I don't understand if he's having symptoms why he is practicing at all, but what do I know. Probably means they expect Voracek to be ready to play Thursday night.
