Are you calling me a tool here?

Anyway, it's clear that there are just general statements being made here without thinking it through. Such as when you trade for a young defenseman that would be capable of replacing Carle, you'll liekly have to give up top assets off your roster to do so. Those players would have to be replaced, which would cost Cap space to do so. So all of this is just fantasy Hockey. Because the options to replace a player like Carle with a similar player for less money, is extremly limited.

- MJL

I was not calling you a tool. I was saying your comments were fixed. I should have said Fixed.

If you were reading I never said to replace Carle with a Similar player. It's called addition through subtraction. Yes you have to give up assets to get players. But in a year where good defenseman are not available through UFA, other then 1 or 2... It would be cheaper to replace a forward asset then trying to find someone to replace exactly what Carle does.

Exactly. I would rather trade Carle for a pick. Pick up a young defenseman in a trade. And trade for Visnovsky for 1 year.

I don't know why everyone can't get along. Homer's gonna trade for webber, Hedman, and then get iglina and stamkos while only trading a 1rst 3rd shelley and 4 hot pretzels. F the salary cap.

Yea, but he's a good puck mover, and his cap hit would be lower then Carle's most likely. Then the next season you lose Timonen's, Hartnell's, and Visnovsky's contract. Your talking about 16 million in Cap room to do as you see fit.

i would have thought visnovsky would be a temp stop gap for timonen leaving
