my point is i don't know what strome is yet..so how can we compare..is THE josh bailey better than Cody Hodgson because he has played more games??
- NYI78

Yes, Josh has been a contributor to the team for 3 years, Cody has not. So, yes, I would say to this point, Josh has been the better pick up. to this point. Not to say, that may not change. However, Cody may not pan out, if he does, he does.

You just happened to pick a player that has re-gressed in his play. Cody has some ground to make up.

I wish Wang would just sell the team to Prokhorov (Nets owner) and call it a day. Not saying he even wants to buy the team, but whatever. Just semantics.

And the guy really knows how to throw a party...

At a Christmas party for the Russian rich at the French Alpine resort of Courchevel in January 2007, he was arrested for allegedly arranging prostitutes for his guests

- BringBackBalky

My gut feeling is that the potential for this to happen if the Islanders move to Brooklyn is the real reason for Bettmans resistance to it, not the seating issue.

I edited my post..I realized even with a carry permit I'm almost positive you can't carry to a sporting event.
- eichiefs9

And a cop from New York can't carry in New Jersey without permission.

So if Couturier plays for 4 years before Strome get to play, must we wait another 4 years for you to decide. I don't think so.

Games played in the NHL should be the measuring stick for these kids, not wait until. Until may never come for a lot of them.

- bixll

ya nyi178, 30 games is MORE than enough to decide which player will be better!!!

Maybe we can get Garth to read these boards. I wanted Skinner in 10 for the record he looks pretty friggin good too.

This year I want Ryan Murray.. and we will have the 3rd pick I am guessing so it should be available.

- niteislander

Where do you get that we will have the 3rd pick? If the season finished today we'd have the 6th pick, assuming nobody won the lottery and the order got changed like last year.

I think we will get a lot higher pick. I would say like 10th over all. Something is telling me this team is not going to just roll over and die. That being said we will have teh number two pick in the draft

We are 1 point from being 3rd pick in the draft.. 1. I am guessing we will be trading some guys like Nabby, Jurcina, PA and whoever else we can get a can of soda for at the deadline. We continue to play bums like Reasoner, Wallace, Rolston and Pandolfo. My point.. while everyone is looking up to the 8th spot. I am looking down..
signed.. Realistic.

edit.. oh yeah and we have guys like mottau returning from injury.. awesome.

Dude what happened to you? I used to talk like that and you were the positve one. The roles have reversed. Maybe your right, maybe I am right, all I know is that I got this weird feeling in me that they will fight till the end

I would look more toward Dumba, Rielly, Trouba. Murray is gonna be the first one off the board, almost certainly before we pick.

Right now, from what I've seen, Trouba is the "safe" pick to me. Game is similar to Hamonic, can play in all 3 zones. Rielly is an "offensive dynamo" as one site put it. I think Dumba is a little more high risk-high reward.

I am just soo disgusted with these guys they signed and will not pull the chute on.. between that and Wang not allowing them to have toughness it makes me want to puke. I am beyond angry at these clowns. They had a real chance at doing something special this year in my opinion and destroyed it.

Not yet. I want to get there. I really don't care to watch a Devils game unless they're playing the Isles. Maybe I'll hit a game next month. The Isles play twice there nex month, I think.
- Jethro09

I went there once. I'll give you all a quick synopsis:

1. It's designed poorly- plenty of room in the hallways, but everything is at the ends, so you basically have to run people over to get to stuff anyway. It's not as "intimate" as our building, but it's no better than the IZOD Center, IMO.

2. Upstairs, you are literally a quarter mile from the ice. I have never seen anything like that- the upper deck at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia was probably closer to the ice than the upper deck in Newark.

3. $30 to park. THIRTY. Of course, why we drove, I have no idea, but I digress...

4. Their announced crowds are like voters in Chicago....I don't know if they're counting legs, whatever, but we have more actual people in the building most nights than they do- guaranteed.

Ill tell you this.. each and every lease he signs in Brooklyn will be with him looking to the future where he can move the team out of there into his own building.......... somewhere.

I'll buy that- but they will stay in New York....I can't imagine any scenario that's going to be worth that TV contract. Take Phoenix- that was supposed to be "better" than Winnipeg. It's an absolute nightmare. At least the TV contract EXISTS.

Ok I understand that I really do but they are better then last year? I mean I still hate Jack Rolston DP and a few othes but still. I dont think it is the team itself fault I blame it on Wang and Snow and some on Jack. He should know better that this team played well without Rolston in there and now throwing REasoner in there might send them into that downward spiral that pushes this team back to a laughing stock

I could live with these results if we stayed with "the plan" they have shoved up our keester for 4 years. If Haley, Ulstrom, Ness, Donovan.. fck even Dibo were on the team and we were struggling like this and u could attribute it to needing time to develop I would be ok with it. This team is Bullsht.. and the worst part is the guys who are playing well are the OUR guys. This isn't like JT wasn't good enough, or Hamonic and Mouslon came back to earth. this is the jaggoffs they signed and WILL NOT sit.. joke.

it just seems a bit premature to puff your chest. can you say that SC is also better than Dougie Hamilton? I just dont see how that assessment can be made so quickly...

I think I can say Bailey is better than Filatov at this point.. but I am pretty sure most of us wanted Luke Schenn.

I think they have a shot to make some noise. Aside from the crest on their jerseys, I can't really generate much hatred for the Rangers this year. I admire their style of play and work ethic.

Maybe "the plan" is to stop dragging up kids from the AHL, who are intended to be here long term and be a part of this team, before they have had fair and adequate time to develop.

Our prospect pool was raped and left barren by years of mismanagement. It takes years to restock a pool from literally zero.

With creative accounting, it is easy to show losses or precieved losses. I doubt that they are as high as published.. If CW is tired of the game, sell it for the 200+ million and move on..Have nice day CW.
- bixll

As an accountant I can tell you that numbers are wimps. If you torture them long enough you can get them to confess to anything.
