I thought X was lobbying for Couturier too?
- UIF

I can remember arguing with someone on here, and I thought it was X. You may be right, we will see what he says. One of my daughters very good friends played against him last year and told me that he was head and shoulders better than the other guys last year.. This kid is a player as well, so I believed him. He was right. The kid can play.

I just wanted to bring something up with X.

I was the one before the draft last year that stated Sean Couturier would be the guy to get this year, if he is not the guy, he sure is one of them. Kid will be a star..

Just sayin X..told you so.

Both XX and I wanted Couturier.. Most on this board wanted Doug H or Larrsonn whichever was left at our pick.

couturier is good..strome hasn't played a game yet...i'll answer this question in 5 years
- NYI78

So if Couturier plays for 4 years before Strome get to play, must we wait another 4 years for you to decide. I don't think so.

Games played in the NHL should be the measuring stick for these kids, not wait until. Until may never come for a lot of them.

I was for Strome or Larsson. But I wasn't at all happy to see Couturier got to Philly...another skilled big body on the Flyers...

I was sure Winnipeg was going to take him.

my dream scenario happened and we passed on the kid. It was very upsetting. I am praying Strome ends up being a star but when the Islanders don't pick who everyone wants them to pick.. it usually ends bad.

My bad, we were just talking about him, he has turned into a solid NHL player and will be for a while.

Maybe we can get Garth to read these boards. I wanted Skinner in 10 for the record he looks pretty friggin good too.

This year I want Ryan Murray.. and we will have the 3rd pick I am guessing so it should be available.

Have you been to the Rock? I won tickets to the March 6th (I think) game against the Rangers there from a charity auction last wknd.
- eichiefs9

Not yet. I want to get there. I really don't care to watch a Devils game unless they're playing the Isles. Maybe I'll hit a game next month. The Isles play twice there nex month, I think.

I was curious to see what it's like..looks nice enough on TV. I'm not a fan of watching Devils game's either, but hell I have the tickets so I might as well check out the arena. Even though it's a female dog of a trip from Western Suffolk.

I like Couturier as well, I wanted Hamilton or Larsson personally. But Strome looks like a player. Solid performer in the "O". I think he will be a great player for the Isles for years to come. Strome's not going to flame out and never make it to the NHL. In 5 years, I think both guys will be highly regarded.

Best sign for Strome is work ethic and he continues to improve big time points wise... It also helps that he works out with same people in same place at JT and Moulson during summer. That has certainly worked out well for those guys..and St. louis who also works out there.

You should take a train. Take LIRR to NY Penn, take Jersey transit to Newark Penn Station. The arena is a five minute walk from the train station. However, if you value your life and the lives of family members who may be going with you, you might want to drive. You can park right by Route 21 and walk two blocks to the arena. Its not a bad deal either.

I wish Wang would just sell the team to Prokhorov (Nets owner) and call it a day. Not saying he even wants to buy the team, but whatever. Just semantics.

And the guy really knows how to throw a party...

At a Christmas party for the Russian rich at the French Alpine resort of Courchevel in January 2007, he was arrested for allegedly arranging prostitutes for his guests

That would certainly make the Season ticket holders outings more interesting.

I'll probably take the train, even though it's not my preference. I think I'm going with a couple of my cop buddies so I'm not overly worried. Unless faces in Newark are resistant to hollow points

Actually I guess that's a moot point, pretty sure you can't bring a gun to a sporting event. Oh well, maybe I'll drive.

I edited my post..I realized even with a carry permit I'm almost positive you can't carry to a sporting event.

thank god garth doesn't read the boards...eveyone is a draft expert. can't fully evaluate these platers for a solid five years after their draft. one of the reason why i'm willing to keep giving bailey a chance even though he frustrates the hell out of me
