my proposed trades would yield the team..
Staffords 4M
Roy 4M
Boyes 4M
Gaustad's 2.5M
Leopolds 3M
Hechts 3.25M
Thats TOTAL: 20.25M
Myers going up to 5.5M will make it 16.25M to play with..
Add Stastny and we are round 10M to play with.
Resign Ennis, Kaleta and we are at 8M...
Maybe go after Konopka to center hte 4th line.. and we are at 6.5M
Find a way to shed Sekera and we are back to 9M... - MillerTime1130

Just curious. Is it true there is serious consideration of trading Regehr? I thought he was playing OK for you guys out there? We've questioned Feaster about the actual return we got for him but the Kotalik dump really muddies the true return we got. Would be interesting what you could get for him if you did sell him off. I would be so shocked if he was traded after relocating his family out there. Was suprised by the rumours. - Kevin R

Realistic...
Sabres get: Colin Wilson and a 2 or 3rd rounder
Nashville get: Roy, and Leopold
Sabres get: Stastny
Avs get: Stafford, 1st round pick, 2nd round pick, and a 4th.
Sabres get: 4th round pick
Jets get: Brad Boyes
Sabres get: 3rd or 4th round pick
Wings get: Gaustad
Vanek - Stasnty - Pommer
Leino - Wilson - Ennis
Gerbe - Adam - Kassian
McCormick - Ellis - Kaleta
Myers - Ehrhoff
Regehr - McNabb
Sekera - Brennan
Miller
Enroth
Sabres have: two 2nd rounders, 2 3rd rounders, and 2 4th rounders.
They could even trade a pick or two of those for another wing/center not top tier talent...
I would also look in FA to find someone better than Ellis for the 4th line.. maybe Konopka?
Thoughts? - MillerTime1130
We get more than that for Goose IMO

Stasney is what the Dr. ordered for Vanek.
Stasney = 40+goals for Vanek |

understood... Stastny is not a Goal guy.. but he has had 47, 50, and 59 assist seasons which is what Vanek and Pommer need between them...
Would you rather have the Sabres draft a guy coming off a torn ACL injury whose stats are great from playing next to Yakutpov, who is only 18 and might not be NHL level of playing for 3-4 years when certain players might be gone off the Sabres?? - MillerTime1130
Yes I would.
First,
the ACL injury doesn't bother me at all...
The science has gotten so good that almost all players in every sport bounce back just fine from it... Some in just a couple months
Second,
I disagree with your assessment that he is good simply from playing with yakupov...
And even if that was true, are Pommer & Vanek not good enough quality line mates for him to still be successful?
Third,
He'd be the #2 pick in the draft if not for that injury...
Those guys USUALLY pan out & are ready to step in and play if not right away, than in the next year
Would it be a risk? Sure, every draft pick is, ESP coming off the injury... I understand your concern...
But stastny has not only had his goals drop, but also his assists.... That's a BIG concern to me... And at 6.6m I want no part of that risk
Plus, your giving up on stafford (selling low) and trading other picks too
I'll finish with this...
Why are u willing to chance that Wilson would work out but not galchenyuk? |

Lindy would ruin either player, so it doesn't matter. How do we know Galchenyuk will work on this system? or if we can even get him. Darcy is at the helm. - SABRES 89
If that's your logic...
What's to say that stastny would work in this system?
And IMO, all stastny has PROVEN is that he's overpaid and his #s have been in consistent decline... And don't blame the team around him... Duchesne has con in and done just fine
Trying to cover up the overpayment of current players by bringing in yet ANOTHER overpaid player COMPOUNDS the problem....
It doesn't fix it |

Colin Wilson
Legit up an coming talent... Hasn't came close to hitting his pinnacle... Great vision, average defensively and great shot...
But I don't see Nashville giving him up... |

If what you say is true and Darcy is still trying to decide whether or not to be a seller or buyer than all the more reason to fire him. |

What will a run accomplish at this point? Best case scenario a first round loss if they make it that far. Fact is Sabres should have been sellers last offseason. |

NYG had to beat DAL to make it into the playoffs in the last game of the season and finish out their season w/a 9-7 record and finish 3-3 in their own division.

And thinking a rookie is going to come in and ave the team is foolish, you talk about compounding a problem, Stafford is a problem as is Leino, Sekera and a few others. I can't see how Stastny will not help, move Staff and Roy and see what happens. |

Agreed Stastny would jump right in btwn Van and Pommer and that would be a top notch number one line |

Nothing is going to change until Darcy is gone, the players he should get he doesnt, and the players he should pass on he gets. Leino is worse then letting Briere and Drury walk and if it's not, it's damm close. Things don't change until he's gone, some will disagree with me but I can care less. |
