Nice. The end was cool, but wasn't happy with some of the decisions they made with one of the main characters

because people disagree about a top doesn't make them unintelligent
disagreeing is part of life

The thing is, when the "disagreement" consists of one person simply saying things/Players/teams suck or are busts over and over and over and over again, day after day, week after week, month after month, and year after year.

There's zero substance to it. It's the most inane and stupid crap that one can post, and it's plenty of posters that engage in it. It detracts from the discourse, because it's bashing for the sake of bashing. After awhile, people either post less, ignore the imbeciles or go to other websites.

When things are going bad, it's like the most extreme example of sports talk radio. When they win, the best thing is that all the imbeciles don't bother posting to simply get reactions out of people. It's like a 55 year old, impotent man buying a Ferrari to compensate.

Really sorry about anyone who is like that having shortcomings, but if you need to come onto a website to (frank) with people to make you happy, then you're a sad (frank)ing person.

No, but if all you have to offer is blanket statements, are you adding to the discourse? Who sucks? Why? Whom do you see on the team more able to fill their role effectively? Who realistically can be acquired to better fill that role? How will that affect other balances on the team?

You don't need to do all in every post, but This team sucks, these players all suck (MY LIFE SUCKS AND I WANT YOURS TO SUCK TOO! as the subtext) just doesn't really add much.

And finally, how much can they really suck if after a really bad stretch they are still slotted 4th in the conference standings?

Why should I know that Carle will never be a 1-2 defenseman? I'm willing to put the facts on the table and discuss it. So why will Carle never be a #2 defenseman? I can make a legitimate case right now that he already is.
- MJL

A Carle critic myself... and I would certainly agree.

I thought Meszy and Coburn were terrible yesterday. Carle has been about as steady a dman as they come... and the fact that he has been paired with a mediocre rookie defenseman in MAB, and not missed a beat has been nothing but a testament to how good he actually is.

He is (in my eyes) a pretty reliable #2.

Think we could get that 4th line dominant center we so desperately need from the Habs?

Well said Jsaq. Completely agree. One thing I will point out that is extremely tiresome is coming onto this site and when you make an observation about a player, good or bad it has to be maligned in both directions until I want to throw up. If I come on here and say man, I wish Bryz was playing today, I get ripped apart because he let in this soft goal and he made this mistake blah blah blah. On the other end of the spectrum, if I come on here and say, man, Matt Carle is really struggling and personally I don't care if he leaves as a free agent... I have others going your wrong, show me factual evidence to say he struggling, his stats say this, he's a player every team would like... blah blah blah. People just need to chill the (frank) out. You are all entitled to your own opinions, like I am, but these pages upon pages of the same (frank)ing people going on and on about the same (frank)ing players is annoying to the point it's unreadable.

So here is my suggestion: why doesn't everybody get it out in the open and respect each other's opinions. I'll go first... I like Bryz and I want him to take the reigns. I like Matt Carle, but don't care if he is back or not. He is not a franchise defenseman that is worth debating about every damn day, he has a terrible shot, and sometimes questionable decision making. However, he moves the puck well and generally keeps himself in good position. He was a perfect compliment to Pronger.

Bingo! People just feel an overwhelming need to be right. It's pathetic, and sad. It's the biggest form of insecurity there is. The inability to admit wrong is a trait that makes a person look foolish.
