I pointed this out last night... and I don't want to be mistaken as one of the sky is falling people. Yet, since the Nashville win the Flyers hav lost 6-4, 5-2, 1-0, 5-2, and 4-3. They beat Toronto in that time 4-3. That means in 5 of their last 6 games they have given up 3 or more goals. Furthermore, Bob started 4 of those 6 games and the 1-0 game wasn't one of them. Bob has allowed 18 goals in 4 games. Now, is he all to blame? Of course not as the D-zone coverage is putrid, yet he gave up some dreadful goals that were really momentum shifting. The 1st Callahan goal Saturday and the 1st and 3rd goals yesterday were simply horrible. And it's a major problem for Bob. He comes up small in so many big games. It's Bryz time to take this thing and run with it.

I'm content with losing to the two best teams in the NHL on back-to-back nights.

From rotoworld. I know the year isn't over yet but you have to wonder if the guy the Flyers are paying $10 mill for is better than the guy the Coyotes are paying $2 mill for.

Here's how the talent level of NHL goaltenders stacks up:

I feel bad for you Bo. This isn't going to be an easy few days. Things are pretty bad around here with frustration. I think people are tired of seeing the same mistakes kill this team over and over. I don't have an answer for what is happening to this team or why the problems are the same. However, guys like Kimmo aren't making things better when he has been one of the worst defenseman the past few weeks. Either way, you are right. Don't take out your frustrations on your fellow fans. Things will get better.

I agree, however what cracks me up is this misconception that because there is a defensive breakdown, it's the defensemen's fault the goal was scored. Not for nothing, I watched Detroit have about 4 really big defensive breakdowns right after they scored to make it 4-3 in the 3rd and a journeyman goalie named JOEY MCDONALD came up with 4 really big saves. The problem is compounding itself because when there is a breakdown the goalies aren't bailing the guys out and when the goalies are hot, they are being hung out to dry at times. It's just a really bad combination.

I think there's a third tier amongst forwards and defensemen, more of a middle ground. But I believe that a lot of guys are just victims or beneficiaries of opportunity (TOI)/opportunity lost.

Well said, but unfortunately won't likely happen. Too often Flyers fans are cannibalistic.

I am more confident in this team getting the cup then I was two years ago. We have a young team with lots of skill. There is no doubt come playoffs our defense will tighten up. Giroux will be out of his funk, Brier will be putting up playoff points as usual, and the young guns will be out there flying around. Bryz will get his rythem later in the season rather then sooner (just the way it is).

This team is built for the playoffs and I am ready! Remember kids, speed kills!

Stay positive

Barkann, who is monumentally stupid, apparently missed the puking Bryz of Weds through Friday and was insinuating he wasn't really sick because last night he was on the bench to see Bob play. He seemed to think Bryz was in the two prior games. I'm just tired of every goal Bryz giving up being "soft" and Bob being SO much better that Bryz (really? You think so now?) and every loss being the fault of the goalies and none of the wins. Win as a team, lose as a team.

I feel like the forwards are all so caught up in their scoring woes that they've completely forgotten about the other end and that is screwing up everyone. The support has been atrocious from outlets on out. You can't hang around the blueline and not expect turnovers when the D is being pressed on their way out. You can't completely forget where you are on the ice on the PK so all of you are clustered like peewees in the slot.

Yup. Sometimes it's just a fresh start with a different team. Brian Elliott was written off two seasons ago. Then there's the Mike Smith example given earlier too.
