Amen
- faceto27

psst:
Schenn's splits are telling:
Away 27 2 8 10 8 81 hits on the road
Home 28 0 7 7 0 100 hits at home

That's still a 200 hit plus pace . Schenn's a 30 point d-man on the road....and a 21 point d-man at home. I see the issue now, he's crapping the bed on home ice.

I just proved that his hits were legit...ie. he's still on a 200 plus hit pace with just his road games.selective reading much?

Is he going to get bigger? No.
Is he going to get fastrer? Not much.
Is he going to become more offensively gifted? Maybe more than he is shown, but not much.

Will his hockey sense improve. Yeah, probably with experience and coaching.

... which leaves him maxxing out at a 3-4 Dman.

If they can get the value of a 1-2 young D-man with upside, they should do it.

ohh I agree and have never said otherwise. I'm just arguing with the guy who thinks he should be dumped for whatever and move on (and replaced with Komi)

My first choice is that they don't trade ANY of the young D. At some point, I am thinking we will have a fantastic D-core. The problem is, we don't know which ones to keep right now.

... we ain't winning any cups anyway, and I couldn't care less about playoffs if they aren't meaningful. I don't want any Aulie for Penner type trades.

Leafs fans need to quit hanging their hats on the Luke Schenn hits stat.

It's a crap statistic.

The Leafs currently have 815 hits at home, and 573 on the road.

The "hits statistician" at the ACC is too generous with the stats.

- Atomic Wedgie

16-9-4 at home 12-13-2 on the road

Guess the goal judges are too generous at home also? just sayin...again

Ya but he is maxed out at 22. The rest of his career is written in stone, and its a flatline.

Schenn has a whopping 19 more hits at home as opposed to the road in one more game played......yup, too generous. A 200 hit pace is still a 200 hit pace.

Since you love that Hit stat so much, why don't you sing the praises of Rosehill...... he hits way more than Schenn does

sure he does, 25 hits is obviously greater than 180 hits.....next you'll tell me Rosehill scores more points then Schenn too. Anyways, this was fun, let's do it again some time.

Silly boy......... Schenn has an average of 8 hits per 60 mins of playtime....

Rosehill is twice as much at 16.02 hits per 60 mins.

I see.....but does Rosehill score points like Schenn and hit like Schenn? The fact you're comparing a 13th forward to Schenn is quite humorous. Perhaps you have more to learn about this game than I gave you credit for. Well, have fun with that.

It doesn't work that way.

Think of this, if Rosehill got the minutes that Schenn gets, he wouldn't survive. He wouldn't be able to keep up that hit per 60min ratio because he would likely be out of energy. He plays like 5 -7 minutes a game when he actually plays. He's not conditioned to play more than that, which to me means he'd likely not have the same amount of energy with more time. So you have to look at it like this "as time increases, hit per 60min played decreases"

I know, I just had to point out that its a totally useless stat that says nothing about once ability, other then that they can hit somebody moving fairly fast on skates

For physical d-men, I do think it does matter. It's not the end all to be all, I mean Matt Greene is always among the hit leaders for d. But in case you didn't notice there were other stats that I threw out there in my comparing a 22 yo Schenn to his contemporaries and other similar d-men at his age that turned out well, ie. Foote, Regeher, Marc Staal, all considered premier shutdown d-men at one time or another. In fact Schenn was way ahead of them in every facet at 22 years of age, offense included. But again you missed that point

As for the whole hits discussion, I only pointed out to AW that if he was right that Schenns stats were inflated because of generous hometown scorekeeping, his hit stats wouldn't be so high on the road. I also pointed out that Schenn played better on the road. In fact, I think that's a big reason for the Schenn hate right now....he's sucking the big one at home.

But you were too busy spouting off how Schenn is garbage, that you kind've missed the point.
