McLennan on TSN1050 brought up a good point.

Said the Oilers game opened up some bad habits, being allowed to freewheel.

Thoughts?

- Brian Huddle

that's not the issue... lack of drive has been what's killed them the last few games.

Somebody else brought that up after the Flyers game....... there is truth to that. Especially being a young team, bad habits can creep up again very easily.

Its the damn Oilers fault

yeah, gomez's contract is absurd.. markov would be deserving of his is he was playing i believe.. but since he is LTIR he doesnt count against their cap

so their big money is either playing or off the books right now (like the leafs, cash flow is not a problem for the habs)

the leafs however, have it sitting as healthy scratches, counting against the cap, and not even making it into the games.

excuses excuses

the leafs are showing an alarming tendancy to wither when a team plays a cautious physical game against them.. its like they have to be reminded every other week that they need to battle for the ice when the speed doesnt work.

if the leafs can drive hard and keep skating they're ok.. they will be at least "in" the game.... however.. disrupt their flow and they have a very hard time re-establishing it in the offensize zone.. they need to learn how to generate their speed and energy without circling back to their own blue line every time

of course they're bound to creep up! 2nd youngest team in the nhl will do that....

it's their job to be inconsistent...thats the only way they'll ever learn to be consistent. (if that makes any sense.)

why army needs to be in the lineup. he hasn't played great, but i think he's the most effective along the boards and winning those 50/50 pucks in the dirty areas.

just gotta give him some ice to get his legs back under him imo.

And the two healthy scratched (Komi, Armstrong) are both the Alternate Captains.
- Brian Huddle

yup, it looks like wilson has gone a different direction with on ice leadership

burke needs to address this.. thats too much to be counting against the cap in the box.

the leafs are up there too lol

however there is a difference between quality effective hitting and just hitting and getting taken out of position because of it

yup, i think so too.....

just checked.. yup, just the habs game he was sat out.. but if he gets sat out again tomorrow its telling me that wilson prefers boyce and crabb in over army.. which i find a bit odd

- Dozzer

how, army is the slowest player on the ice, hasen't done a thinggg in 2 years . boyce brings speed and hits, army hasen't hit anyone in 2 years, crabb gets poits.

komi needs to replace schenn....

and army needs to replace one of boyce or lombo...

they should also consider recalling frattin....kid didn't score much, but he played balls out every shift!

agree whole heartedly... if they are giving lombardi the time to recover from lengthy amounts of time off (which aI am all for) they should damn well be giving army the same oppurtunity

Yeah, here's a thought.

If one game like that can open up some bad habits that persist for 3 games... then how does the coach still have a job?

its because army has battled consistent injury.. i tend to give guys the benefit of the doubt when it comes to lengthy amounts of time off.

That play in Philli where Dion came from behind the net and put it up to him and he didn't accept the pass and let Philli put it on net ending up in that goal where Hartnell and Dion went at it...

sealed his fate IMO. Since then he's barely touched the ice.

could be Army's not really in shape yet (which I'd agree with based on the game he played), but can't put him back on IR...

I like Frattin's game........ built like a fire hydrant. Very feisty and can play the boards. Prefer him over Crabby

so injuries have made him that slow. hes done and rw knows it and is sending a message to burkie that komi and army have no place on this team, these are huge games and their sitting.
