Pretty much.

And I know you disagree, but I really think the lack of size is showing through. Teams are slowing up the Leafs and forcing them to the boards where they can't win battles.

Connolly with Grabo should mean Grabo shoots more.....and we can all agree Grabo is a heck of a shooter.

i dont totally disagree.. if they are going to play the board battle game then they do need size..

they could still attack with speed but as soon as the opposition plays them hard they wither (cept maybe lupul)

they wont dominate with size, but this team still does need to learn how to battle through a tough checking opponent, one power forward isnt going to fix that on his own.

No I agree. And I'm not of the belief that a Power Forward is coming. But I would love to see a real checking line developed for the third.

A guy like Jarret Stoll from LA really entices me, as he brings a lot of speed, some size (6'1 210 lbs) and he's a solid defensive player with a good FO percentage. And then something like Frattin on the one wing with whoever else.

I dunno. I just really prefer some size and two-way play ont he third line over Connolly-Lombo-Crabb

I would be ok with the forwards' lack of board play as long as the defense was physical. Right now, no body is punishing players on the boards. The dmen get tired, then back up and stand in front of the net and leave it to the forwards to defend along the boards. That 4th goal on Dion was absolutely pitiful. For 6.5 million per year, at least take a penalty to show people you care enough to even try stopping the player. Sure, Reimer should have played that more strongly on his part, but poop, I could be paid that kind of money to have players skate around me untouched.

in fairness to dion, i think he is getting too many minutes.... especially now that the leafs are in a huge cluster of games (15 games in 30 days or something)

cut that man's minutes down to 25 or less (25 MAX) and i bet you see a more poised and energetic game from him

Absolutely he is getting too many minutes. ALL of the Dmen right now should be getting no more than 20 minutes each. Top-end players like Dion, however, do have a say in how many minutes they play. I've seen him stay on the ice for a few minutes, even at the end of powerplays, etc. He needs to take the leadership to make on-the-go line changes because if he's tired, I don't see Gunnarsson being any different.

this threesome might go an entire game without winning a single battle.

Is it just me or does the scheduling seem (frank)ed this season?

I feel like they go on these stretches of 3-4-5 nights off for a few weeks, then its 3 games in 4 nights and 4 games in 5 nights.

Dion's a 25 minute guy. He's been playing upwards of 27 a night this year because after him we have a mismatch of Dmen. He should still be playing around 23 minutes a night. He's one of the only guys I actually trust on the ice, even with his brain farts.

I saw you on last week's episode of "You gotta Eat Here", you were eating a burger with peanut butter.

That actually sounds hella gross.

Somebody told me that peanut butter with oreos were tasty. Told them Peanut butte belongs on sandwiches, toast, bananas and in chocolate. Nothing else.

New lines this morning

Grabo - Connolly - MacArthur
Kulemin - Lombardi - Crabb

I like the idea of trying Grabo on the wing! Looks like they are trying to find ways to keep him.
