How good is that guy, seriously? - Pecafan Fan
nuts. Have really only seen the Flyers this year against Leafs ((frank)ing house renos interferring with my opposition research this year)
He was out for essentially the last 1:30 against the Leafs, short handed, with a 1 goal lead.
couldn't believe it. |

they don't disappear.
And for the record I'm not on the fire Wilson train. There has been a ton of progess with a lot of the young players and a lot of that can be directly attributed to Wilson and his approach to "teaching the game"
However, there are many situations were he clearly is just being outcoached in the game. Philly was one, Winnepeg another.
Montreal game it seemed the Team had no idea what to do against another team with speed.
Coaches job to alter gameplan when the one you have isn't working. Wilson doesn't do that.
When they win they win with speed. When they lose, it's usually because they are outcoached (or they all poop the bed like on Saturday) - Big_Lightnin
Exactly. |

I just can't tell avatars apart. Plus I don't go to EE's threads to sort poop out for myself.
Usually I'm pretty good at finding posters with multiple accounts, simply by the way they post....Example: I'm the dude that figured out UG's little Keyser Soze experiment simply by his writing style. (comes with the territory of being an editor. no jokes about my horrible writing thanks).
I think shinebox is a habs fan, just haven't figured who he was or is. |

He does everything. He's got size, hands, kills penalties, can play on the PP... and he's only 19. |

How bad does that Carter trade look for the Jackets eh? Philly was probably hoping they MIGHT get a player as good as carter 3 years down the road.
Courturier and Voracek are more valuable to them than Carter would have been THIS SEASON...

Problem is, I suspect Carter never wanted to play in Columbus anyway.
Hence why they are rumored to be willing to move him at the deadline.
That contract. Oh my, that contract. Insanity.
Makes the Gomez deal look like a walk in the park. |

see I go back and forth on the contract... If his game falls way off, sure, bad. But aside from injury and really not wanting to play in Columbus, this is a guy who's pretty much automatic for 30 goals, locked up for $5.2M a year for essentially the rest of his career.
In 5 years he and Mike Richards are going to be the best deals in hockey... |

what's funny is that you're the type of poster i'm talking about...
your bullpoop analysis of our breakout is silenced when we go 7-2-1....all you can talk about at that point is playoff matchups.
but it's ok burn...wilson is a horrible coach....it's all his fault the 2nd youngest team in the leauge he coaches is inconsistent and battling for 8th in the conference....not like that's exactly where they should be or anything. - Pen15

They lose because their entire game is based on speed and when you take that away... they don't have much else. They can't win board battles or grind it out down low, cycle the puck and create chances. They base the entire game on the counter attack.
It's just how the roster is. |

if the play as they never get any better than they have been the last 4 yrs, still a huge bargain.
The only risk is if they're game falls off, or injury, but to a team with money that isn't as big of a risk. |

And Poni is an interesting example.....in the right situation and system, Poni is doing well. In 9 games with the devils he has two goals and eight points and is a +6. He was a failure in Pitts, LA (interesting since Penner is essentially failing in the same way) and Carolina. Yet in New Jersey he looks like the Poni that was with the leafs. Again though, I'm only interested in Penner if it means we dump a salary the other way, i.e. Lombo/Komisarek/Armstrong (sorry, just not a fan of what he's become). - mykokes
Yup, agreed.
And if Penner manages a bit of a rebound, give him a 1 year MacArthur contract. |
